Customers say: Quality work

"The Electrician was very good, didn't install the replacement fan as he indicated that the ceiling in my guest bath would need to come down (a portion of it anyway) and he didn't think the new fan would make a difference in the noise. Said that bathrooms on the 1st level/main level of multi story homes are often noisy due to poor installation and some other issues.
He did fix a plug - and review the electrical panel.

"Terry, of Run Electric, Inc., worked diiligently running up and down the stairs of my 3 story house for 2 days. I found him to be hard working, competent as an electrician, energetic, anxious to please, and personable. My older home had some unpleasant "surprises" for him, but he managed to overcome them. Everything worked out fine. I think the job turned out to be more difficult than what he anticipated, but unlike many contractors, he didn't go up on his original price. Naturally, I appreciated this. Yes, I would recommend him to others."

"Dave was very nice and HONEST.   I told him exactly what was happening and he assured me it wasn't electrical because I was getting some power to the dishwasher.  He explained exactly why he thought it was the dishwasher in language I could understand.   He suggested I call the manufacturer - which I did.   The problem was easily solved  in a manner of minutes with a push of a button and for free!  He saved me a lot of time and money and I really appreciate that!   Thank you Dave!

"They did a great job. My panel was in a tough to get to location and their crew knocked it out and even went above and beyond the call of duty by helping my husband move a couch!"

"Tony was responsive, friendly and helpful in providing an estimate for services.  He did not try to oversell or hard sell, but gave good information about a variety of options.  Jason, who installed the system, was extremely professional and a pleasure to deal with.  He really went above and beyond to make sure the system was installed in a way that hid wires, matched paint, etc., and took the time to ensure that we understood how the system worked.  They lived up to their Angie's List reputation and do things the right way.

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Ecorse, MI

Yes, a licensed electrician is essential for this project. Running an electrical service from the road to your house involves connecting to utility power lines, complying with national and local electrical codes, and safely handling high-voltage systems.

Licensed professionals understand proper wire sizing, grounding requirements, and voltage drop calculations needed for safe installation. Most jurisdictions require permits and inspections that only certified professionals can obtain. The safety risks and potential for property damage make this project inappropriate for DIY attempts.

Overhead installations are less expensive than underground options. For a 1000-foot run, overhead service costs between $8,000 and $15,000, while underground service ranges from $10,000 to $25,000.

Overhead lines require less labor and fewer materials since they don't need trenching or conduit. However, underground lines offer better protection from weather events and aesthetic benefits. Your decision should balance your budget constraints with long-term reliability and visual preferences.

You might need to upgrade your electrical panel depending on your power requirements. If your existing panel cannot handle the additional load from the extended service, upgrading to a 200-amp service (costing $750 to $2,000) may be necessary.

A licensed electrician can evaluate your current system and determine if an upgrade is required. Factors include what you'll be powering at the end of the line, existing electrical demand, and whether voltage drop over the distance will affect performance.

Running electric service from the road to a house requires electrical permits from your local building department, costing between $500 and $2,000 depending on your location. You may also need excavation permits for trenching work if installing an underground service. Your utility company will have its own application process for connecting to its grid. A licensed electrical contractor can handle all the necessary permit applications as part of their service, ensuring your installation meets all local code requirements.
