"Nathan was AMAZING!! We are in the process of re-doing our floors and a DIY project turned into a need for some professionals after a wire got cut. Nathan was FAST! He called us, and 12 hours later he was out at our house. After the problem was a little more complicated than I originally thought/described he came back the same day and fixed the issue! He was so nice and professional. I cannot recommend Nathan enough for all of his help and would absolutely hire him again for any electrical needs in our home!"

"Trey Electric contacted me within an hour or so to confirm the appointment time I had requested on Home Advisor. Tony (Trey), a master electrician and company owner, showed up a few minutes early, understood immediately the task I wanted to completed, and gave me an estimate. It was so much lower than a previous estimate that I hired Trey Electric on the spot and set an appointment for the project. They showed up as scheduled, and completed the project in about an hour, on budget. They were so good that I added another small project on the spot, which they gladly completed in about an hour, all on a late Friday afternoon. I will definitely bring them back for some other projects soon!"

"Oscar gave us a reasonable estimate for the work requested. He told us of a fairly tight schedule, but was able to start the project two days later (Saturday). He gave us an approximate job completion time, and was finished within that estimate. All work was done with quality materials, within budget, and performed as expected. Oscar is friendly and eager to please the customer. We were very happy with the work done, and would recommend this company for any future electrical projects."

"They lacked of bit of responsiveness in regard to contacting me about delays or times they would be there. I missed 2 days of work waiting for them, the first day they didn't call to tell me they weren't going to show up because the motor they ordered was not the correct one, and the second day they overbooked a job so they arrived late in the afternoon. The repair Tech however was very nice and professional. They just need to work on their customer service skills, like letting the customer know of any delays."

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in El Paso, TX

Yes, a licensed electrician is essential for this project. Running an electrical service from the road to your house involves connecting to utility power lines, complying with national and local electrical codes, and safely handling high-voltage systems.

Licensed professionals understand proper wire sizing, grounding requirements, and voltage drop calculations needed for safe installation. Most jurisdictions require permits and inspections that only certified professionals can obtain. The safety risks and potential for property damage make this project inappropriate for DIY attempts.

Overhead installations are less expensive than underground options. For a 1000-foot run, overhead service costs between $8,000 and $15,000, while underground service ranges from $10,000 to $25,000.

Overhead lines require less labor and fewer materials since they don't need trenching or conduit. However, underground lines offer better protection from weather events and aesthetic benefits. Your decision should balance your budget constraints with long-term reliability and visual preferences.

You might need to upgrade your electrical panel depending on your power requirements. If your existing panel cannot handle the additional load from the extended service, upgrading to a 200-amp service (costing $750 to $2,000) may be necessary.

A licensed electrician can evaluate your current system and determine if an upgrade is required. Factors include what you'll be powering at the end of the line, existing electrical demand, and whether voltage drop over the distance will affect performance.

Running electric service from the road to a house requires electrical permits from your local building department, costing between $500 and $2,000 depending on your location. You may also need excavation permits for trenching work if installing an underground service. Your utility company will have its own application process for connecting to its grid. A licensed electrical contractor can handle all the necessary permit applications as part of their service, ensuring your installation meets all local code requirements.
