I signed up for the lawn and tree program over the phone and was told the company would not use any high pressure or up-sale tactics, My impression was that up selling did occur when the technician came for our initial treatment and told me that we had mite issues and the price for treatment would be lower if I signed up through him rather than calling the company and adding the service on, I am not sure if this was a version of high pressure or if in fact it was true, but it did NOT feel good. I did sign up with the technician, btw."

"David was the manager from Dean's in charge of the services provided for my lawn. He did not charge more than he quoted me during his free estimate. His work was meticulous. Before aeration started, he had all the underground lines tagged, and made sure not to hit any of them. He completed the work with his team in three visits (including estimate visit, the line blow out did not need to be done until later in the season). When I asked him some questions about how his team had adjusted the valves to my system after the blowout of the water lines, he responded professionally to my e-mail, less than a day after I sent it. David will also be following up in the spring to make sure that all the work he did is on track to deliver the results we are looking for. Not many landscaping services offer viable non-gmo, non-chemical fertilizer and herbicide options, but Dean's Sprinkler Service and Landscaping does. This is important to me, because I don't want to expose my toddler (or the local bee population) to nasty chemicals when he is playing in the yard. Dave also gave good maintenance tips re the proper height to trim the grass to minimize weed infiltration, how often to mow the lawn etc. I fully expect to see my lawn looking a whole lot better this summer, and highly recommend Dean's Sprinkler Service and Landscaping."

"From my first phone call until the crew cleaned up and left my experience with Jand J was top notch. They sent someone out to my house to put together an estimate within a day or two of first contact. Brian came out and walked our entire property. He made a number of suggestions and explained what was going on with certain trees. He was very knowledgeable and it was clear his goal was to educate the customer so that they could make an informed decision. He wrote up an itemized bid, which made it very easy to budget.We had a few other companies come out and bid as well. The prices were all comparable, but we went with Jand J because they went the extra mile in terms of customer service and making sure we understood what our options were and why those were our options.When I called the office to set up a time to come out Lynn was very nice, as usual. She said they were about two weeks out, which was fine with us. I was a little surprised the following day when John called me and asked if they could come out in the morning. From two weeks to two days is quite nice. We were glad they could fit us in so soon and were told they would arrive at our house at 7:30am.The next morning the crew arrived slightly before 7:30 and set to work. They took down a large pine tree on one side of our house, and two pine trees on the other side. They also thinned out a spruce tree in our back yard. The spruce looked SO much better after the trimming it was almost unbelievable. The crew not only worked fast (they were done with everything by 11:30am) but they actually did more work than what was on the original bid. The large pine was in a grove of other trees so a stump grind wasn't necessary, but they did it any way. I had also cut down another bush and a small tree prior to them coming and the pieces of these were stacked on the side of the house. They ground up all this unwanted wood and even ground the stump of the bush, which was a total bonus.There was only one tree on the original bid that we elected not to remove because we wanted it for the rest of the summer to shade our grass. John came out to the site and told me that if we wanted to take it down in the winter he'd reduce the price, which was awesome and something we are likely to take him up on once the weather cools.Overall, the office staff was great, the crew worked fast, were punctual, and courteous, and I felt like I got a very good value for the money we spent."

"Originally, I scheduled a time for an estimate on tree trimming.--Within 2 days, Robert arrived at my house, on my preferred day and right on time! He listened well to my request for the scope of work, but in the end, he noted that the 50+ year old elm tree was "on its last leg" and a potential safety hazard. Robert was very professional and his insights and clear explanations were very much appreciated! He recommended the full removal of the old tree and showed me the reasoning to back up his recommendation....bark pulling easily off of the tree; root in the yard could be actually pulled up and easily showed rot/decay; dead limbs mixed throughout. Robert has 23 years of experience behind him, plus a wealth of current/ongoing education and a degree as an arborist. He was so personable and upfront, but never pushy or pressuring me into signing a contract for work. He easily spent upwards to 45 minutes with me, educating me on the problem so I could better understand why the tree should be removed and not simply trimmed. He presented me with options and suggestions on how to get the work done for a reasonable cost and yet maintain a high standard of quality and competency...to protect me, in the long run. Never once did he "push" me into making a decision, and amazingly, even recommended that I seek multiple bids before making a final decision on the scope of work and timing of the completion of that work. His integrity, sincere honesty and approachability was welcomed and commendable! And, even though I may not use his company to perform the actual removal of this tree, I will remember him....his company...for possible future work and/or recommendations to friends and family. This kind of service; honest and professional, even when a "sale" may not occur, is truly notable! What a pleasant experience! Robert is a true asset of The Natural Way company!"
