"I had 9 light fixtures to replace the original contractor fixtures. Hans looked at my existing fixtures and my replacement fixtures and gave me a written quote. He also gave me a free home electrical inspection and all was good. Hans stated he could install the fixtures that same day so I went ahead and hired him. I found out a couple days later that there was a hic-up or two and gave Hans a call. He will return and fix the issue. It had nothing to due with the electrical installation which is all fine."

"He was really nice and knew what he was doing, but I was a little irritated that when he was cutting the electrical box, it went through my wall on the backside. He didn't reduce the price for the mishap."

"Gentleman who owns Solarize was professional and courteous. He communicated well with the manufacturer and convinced them that a replacement inverter was needed based on the data he saw and the manufacturer had seen. It's what we were hoping for."

"Great experience! Showed up the day after posted the project. We had an electrical problem in the garage that a handyman couldn't figure out. Great communication, very friendly and professional. Described the cost prior to coming out. Was patient in looking for the problem. Found the problem (it was a faulty outdoor plug that knocked out the garage door openers). Fixed the problem and replaced another outdoor plug. Great experience-highly recommend."

"Brian and his crew did a great job. We had them re-wire the majority of our 140 year old farmhouse. They did panel work, ran wires did exterior and interior work to two outbuildings, installed lights, fans, switches and plugs, buried cable and wired under the house for the dehumidifier. They were reasonably priced, extremely polite and responsive to our needs. I couldn’t be happier with the job they did, and I plan to have them back for any additional work that I do. Thank you guys— you were great!"

"Darren was great. He explained everything to me in detail. As a first time buyer, it has been a little overwhelming and Darren was patient and kind enough to put up with all my questions. The inspection report was very detailed in his findings along with photos showing any areas of concern. I would highly recommend!"

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Elkland, MO

Yes, a licensed electrician is essential for this project. Running an electrical service from the road to your house involves connecting to utility power lines, complying with national and local electrical codes, and safely handling high-voltage systems.

Licensed professionals understand proper wire sizing, grounding requirements, and voltage drop calculations needed for safe installation. Most jurisdictions require permits and inspections that only certified professionals can obtain. The safety risks and potential for property damage make this project inappropriate for DIY attempts.

Overhead installations are less expensive than underground options. For a 1000-foot run, overhead service costs between $8,000 and $15,000, while underground service ranges from $10,000 to $25,000.

Overhead lines require less labor and fewer materials since they don't need trenching or conduit. However, underground lines offer better protection from weather events and aesthetic benefits. Your decision should balance your budget constraints with long-term reliability and visual preferences.

You might need to upgrade your electrical panel depending on your power requirements. If your existing panel cannot handle the additional load from the extended service, upgrading to a 200-amp service (costing $750 to $2,000) may be necessary.

A licensed electrician can evaluate your current system and determine if an upgrade is required. Factors include what you'll be powering at the end of the line, existing electrical demand, and whether voltage drop over the distance will affect performance.

Running electric service from the road to a house requires electrical permits from your local building department, costing between $500 and $2,000 depending on your location. You may also need excavation permits for trenching work if installing an underground service. Your utility company will have its own application process for connecting to its grid. A licensed electrical contractor can handle all the necessary permit applications as part of their service, ensuring your installation meets all local code requirements.
