"I bid approximately 10 different people across three categories: landscapers, contractors and masons. The landscapers were stumped given it was structural and it was graduated (grew from small to tall). The contractors were very matter of fact as were most of the masons; demo it and build it with this one brick style that they were accustomed to using. Scott came out and was very self-assured as to how he was going to tackle the project and he explained how he was going to do it and why. Prior to this however, on the phone, he sent us to his website to check out all the retaining walls he had previously done, both structural and more for esthetic purposes (my words) I will say. After he explained his approach, he then got out his brick catalog and gave us a couple of options then he would recommend. Then, he saw that we had a large tree nearby and recommended that perhaps we might want to go with a smooth vs. textured stone so that all the sap and other tree droppings wouldn't cling to the brick. This is the type of attention to detail that Scott brings to the project. He was right on budget, his team was very pleasant and very nice, and they were very clean when they were done. I would use them again in a minute. I am not sure that there isn't anything with stone that Scott hasn't done. <br />"

"Simons Landscaping Company does excellent job but they are definitely high end. If one wants to get something done really fast and really well then I would recommend them. They were super friendly. They were super professional when they came to do the estimate but the quote came in really high. I would not get a quote from them in the future because they are just too expensive for us."

Given the patio dimensions, she misquoted the price lower than it should have been. Using D-Rock's price list we double-checked her math and found out she was off by 50%. After stripping the deck there were a few more boards where some rotting was identified and Barak and his team replaced them promptly. Stain looks great and made an immediate difference. I had been contemplating if my 20 year old deck was too far gone and needed replacing... but after seeing what Barak could do with stripping the old paint off, replacing some bad boards, and staining... "Maybe they do amazing work, I have no idea. I called 3 times over the course of 2 weeks and submitted requests for estimates twice. I spoke with someone 2 or 3 times on the phone and each time I was either told to go submit a request on the website or that he remembered my note and would go find it and email me with a time to set up an appointment asap. It never went any farther than that. If you are too busy or have other things going on and can't respond, that's totally understandable but please just say so so I don't waste my time. I'm rating a C b/c I'm going on the assumption that SOMETHING was going on that would legitimately explain this otherwise inexcusable behavior."

"Everything went very well.  I had spent all summer trying to contact landscapers and waiting for replies that never came and finally, and fortunately, found Mickman Brothers.  I dealt with Paul, who kept me updated on everything, even if he was going to be a few minutes late for an appointment.  Our initial consultation was low key and he understood exactly what I was looking for and, importantly, what I was not looking for on this project at this time.  I made one tree-choice change.  The work was done, with just a 2-day delay, in a half day.  The crew was very hard-working and courteous, and they did a great job cleaning up. <br /> I have already told Paul I'll be contacting him in the spring of 2015 for Phase 2 of our project. <br />"

"The project went very well -- I had a general idea of what I wanted and Brian had specific recommendations for each area of the project.  The project (especially the steps to the backyard) was adjusted as we went along which changed the original estimate, but Brian always let me know if that was occurring.  Brian's team members are very hardworking and also have very positive upbeat personalities.   Brian and his team produce excellent work and pay attention to details (ie, craftsmanship), but Brian also has a good "eye".  When he says he has an idea/suggestion  for your project, just say "OK" -- it will definitely be something you like.  I've had more positive comments from my neighbors about this driveway than any other improvement to my home in the past 10 years, including the new roof and siding project several years ago."
