"I hired Laguna to paint the exterior eaves and trim on my brick home. We had also put a new garage door that we wanted them to include in the project. Our back patio is covered and they also painted the ceiling and beams and posts there. I am impressed with the thoroughness they showed in completing this project. The color and paint texture is perfect, and they even had a special paint for our gutters. It was completed in two days after a thorough power wash. They are professional and pleasant to work with. The House looks fresh and renewed. They cleaned up afterward. I am more than satisfied and I will keep their card in my file for future use. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a project well done. "

"Over-the-top professionalism! They came to my rescue without hesitation. Got the welding job done in a timely manner and did a great job. I highly recommend this company for your welding needs repairs or builds. I was totally blown away that they were willing to travel so far to come and rebuild my trailer hitch so that I could continue my journey."

"We could not have been happier with the professional job they did. They made suggestions to help us decide on colors and finishes. Door seals were replaced, exterior lamps were removed and spray painted. They only worked on what could be completed in a given day and always cleaned up at the end of the day. We have received many compliments on how good our house looks. We will definitely hire Greg and Zach again!"

"Really happy with these guys!  I've hired a lot of contractors in the past year, and Caldwell Bros was the easiest to deal with and most professional by far.  They went over all the details with me, matched the paint perfectly, did thorough prep work and charged exactly what they said it would cost.  The garage, decks and fence look great! <br />"

"This is the best our windows have looked in years. I'm not sure if the price I mentioned above is exact; we had a Groupon coupon that cut the price considerably. But we were so impressed with their hard work and good attitude that we gave both of the young men a $20 tip. It was Christmastime, and they earned it."

"Bob was great - honest, responsive, fast, and competitively priced. He has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in his work. He is a straight shooter, no BS - we appreciated his directness when discussing details and adding/removing items from scope of work. There were no surprises or big bills at the end. Overall, he was very easy to work with and delivered everything promised within the agreed upon budget. The few hiccups that came up - he dealt with personally and handled fairly. We will definitely hire Bob again for the next remodeling project."

FAQs for deck, fence, patio or porch clean and seal projects in Emmett, ID

You should clean your deck before sealing it. Cleaning before refinishing is critical. If you don’t remove dirt and debris, you'll trap moisture in the wood, which prevents the new sealer from working correctly and can lead to costly repairs. Whether you need to sand, power wash, or sandblast depends on your deck's condition.

Sealing and staining your deck are essential maintenance methods that protect and beautify your outdoor space. Stain adds rich color and guards against fading, while sealant fortifies the wood against moisture and weather damage. Wood type, climate, deck age, and the degree of existing damage determine whether your deck benefits from one or both treatments. Using both options extends your deck’s durability and enhances its overall appearance.

Power washing and sealing your deck costs $500 to $1,700. This process combines the removal of stubborn dirt and debris with a protective seal that preserves the wood’s integrity. Effective cleaning eliminates harmful buildup, and a proper seal prevents moisture damage and wood decay, ensuring long-term durability and reducing future repair expenses.

Your deck must be sealed every one to three years to maintain its strength and appearance. Regular sealing is essential to protect the wood against moisture, mold, and harmful UV rays. A consistent sealing schedule prevents rapid deterioration and costly repairs. Inspections should be performed annually to determine if the protective layer remains intact, extending the life of your deck.

Leaving your deck untreated compromises its structural integrity and safety. An unprotected deck rots quickly due to moisture and environmental exposure, which means that neglecting sealing results in rapid decay and expensive replacement costs of $4,125 to $11,650. Sealing your deck is essential for maintaining its durability and protecting your home.

The sealant on your deck dries within a few hours and reaches full cure within 72 hours before regular use. It is essential to wait until the complete curing period to ensure the protective layer fully sets and resists weather and foot traffic. Proper drying guarantees that your deck is fully protected against moisture and environmental damage, ensuring lasting quality.
