"Great, guys came over to replace broken microwave. Issue was existing microwave was shorter than the new microwave; therefore , the existing tile needed to be trimmed back to allow the new microwave to fit. They took care of it in a few minutes - got the new microwave installed - and cleaned up as though nothing was done. Will definitely call them for future projects."

"Charlie does quality work at a reasonable price. He installed new windows and a bathroom in a house that I had in Pecos, TX. Also put a privacy fence in my backyard in El Paso. Nice guy."

"Whitlock Granite accepted a job that would likely have been rejected by other vendors. The job was a repair of an existing "broken edge" granite counter top, removing the rough edge hazard. The job was not routine, but Waylan and Madison researched techniques and sought out advise from others on how to complete the job. Other vendors tried to discourage their efforts to complete the job, but they completed the job and we are extremely pleased with the result."

"I was assisting with some electrical home repairs where this company was also performing painting services. They were very professional and very friendly, which made working with them very pleasant and easy. They were very good about sticking to the time frames they quoted, even when their were budget difficulties. They were more than willing to work with the customer on costs, even during their clean up phases. They also cleaned up their work spaces before it became a big mess, which saved me the hassle of cleaning up after previous contractors when I was doing my own electrical installations. I highly recommend this company, based on their professionalism, friendliness and how well kept they maintained their workspace areas."

FAQs for stone slab countertops installation (granite, marble, quartz, etc) projects in Emory, TX

Soapstone countertops are durable, environmentally friendly, easy to maintain, non-porous, heat-resistant, and naturally antibacterial. They resist stains and cracks, making them a practical and long-lasting choice. However, soapstone has limited color options and can have visible seams in larger installations. It may also scratch or chip if not handled carefully and tends to have a higher initial cost than other materials. Overall, if you're looking for a functional and aesthetically pleasing countertop, soapstone is a solid choice despite these minor drawbacks.

Soapstone countertops typically come in light to dark gray, often with blue or green undertones. One of the unique features of soapstone is that it deepens in color over time, developing a rich patina that adds to its charm. Each slab is unique, with natural streaks and veining that become more pronounced as the countertop ages, giving your kitchen or bathroom a dynamic and evolving look.

With proper care, soapstone countertops can last 50 years or more. Regular cleaning with mild detergents and occasional applications of mineral oil to enhance the natural patina will keep your countertops looking beautiful. Thanks to its durable nature, soapstone stands up well for daily use, making it a wise long-term investment for your home.

Sealing isn't necessary for soapstone countertops. Soapstone is naturally non-porous and antibacterial, resists stains, and doesn't harbor bacteria. While you don't need to seal it, applying mineral oil occasionally can enhance its natural beauty and help develop a rich patina over time. This simple maintenance keeps your countertop looking its best for years to come.
