Rainbow Home Improvements has been in business and serving Pierce and South King Counties since 1984. Owner Bernard (Ben) Heisterkamp emigrated from the Netherlands in 1980, has lived in Pierce County since 1982 and has been a licensed contractor since 1984 (license number: RAINBHI168ME) He specializes in kitchen and bath remodeling, interior finish carpentry, ceramic tile and laminate work, but is experienced in most phases of construction. He is a hands-on contractor, an old school craftsman with over 25 years of experience in residential remodeling, who prefers to do most of the work himself and takes great pride in his work. When necessary he will subcontract plumbing, electrical or drywall work, but all work will be carefully supervised. Quality control is his utmost priority. Remodeling is stressful for homeowners. There is dust, noise, change in daily routines and invasion of privacy. Ben will make all efforts to keep disruptions to a minimum. He will also consult with you throughout the project, explain choices and offer suggestions to make sure that the end result will meet your expectations and that he can add you to his list of happy customers. If your home is built before 1979, it might possibly contain lead paint. We are prepared to deal with the lead dust that can be generated by remodeling activities. "Steve was recommended by a neighbor who is also in the trades. I called, left a message, he called me back within an hour. After discussing the broken torsion spring and what it would take to replace it - including me sending pictures, he quoted me a very fair price and said he would be able to come do the repair the next day at 10 AM. Next day at 10 AM, there he was on my doorstep. About 40 minutes later the replacement was complete, including some minor adjustments that were also needed, all included in the original quoted price. The door is now working perfectly. I heartily recommend Steve and his business for any and all garage door installations or service."

We prefer to do walk thru of jobs before we begin any type of work so that we are familiarized with project and so home owner/sub-contractor has a chance to meet us. Once we have determined a price that homeowner/sub-contractor is happy with, we will submit a notification to L&i and you regions clean air agency. Once notifications are submitted there will be a 10- day waiting period before we can begin abatement. 0n date of completion we can provide all proper paper work (air sample results, letter of completion and waste manifest) upon request before any type of payment is made unless arrangements have been made.
