"Let's be honest. I'm a single 51-year old woman and I have cancer and I'm kind of a typical female. I can bake a cake but come to other stuff like cars, electronics and household projects etc., forgetaboudit. Going forward. The other painter took a portion of the money in purchasing hideous paint. Marty had left-over paint from other paint jobs and didn't charge me for paint. Within the week, he had the upper floor of my home looking wonderfully then added services in remodeling two bathrooms, trim work, carpentry and all this hurting with a bad back and in pain. Marty provides outstanding input with paint selection, color and shows paint swatches on the wall to assess color preferences that can be even one shade different vs. shiny, vs. matt, vs, warranty of paint, you name it, he knows about it and works with you for the best options for long-term.

I currently had Marty repaint the outside of my home from yet another painting nightmare (Okay I'm a sucker, I admit it). I have yet another contractor issue in remodeling my basement and while a drywall construct goes on and on, Marty had the entire outside of my home completely done in 2 days. Marty in his superior ways, lends great support to the other contractors, does his incredible work and the outside looks fabulous. As we get to the basement, I value Marty's expertise and cleaning up everyone else's messes (including my own in getting sucked in by and quot;otherand quot; contractors...)

NorthWoods Handyman has been an excellent partner for a number of repairs we're making to our farm house. Ron, the owner, came out to our house at our scheduled time to do an initial estimate of the repairs. He explained how he worked, who he'd bring out with him and what we could expect. My respect for him rose right away when he told us straight out that there was one type of repair he didn't do (carpet patching). I'd rather have someone tell me that up front than try to do it and make a mess of it!
Ron and his team did everything they said they were going to do and more. Along the way, they made good recommendations to make things even better (adding baseboards to the flooring, for example). They were patient when I changed my mind on the shower surround I wanted, and returned the old one to Home Depot without complaint. They even helped us move furniture around to make room for the flooring installation. Ron picked up all the materials we needed, credited back any extra items, and provided receipts for everything without my having to ask for them.
The repairs they have made look great. And the new flooring they installed in the basement is fantastic! Everyone who has seen it has commented about how great it looks. They've also been very respectful of our house and our time, letting us know when they are arriving or leaving, cleaning up after themselves, and just generally taking care of things. There was no mess left behind when they were done.
We will definitely be using NorthWoods Handyman again. In fact, we have already asked him to estimate four more projects for us, and are looking forwards to getting those completed.

UPDATE: We contracted NorthWoods Handyman again to complete some more minor projects, including one really icky one (pulling down old insulation out of a farm shed). They arrived on time and got everything done in two days! The work was excellent, and we're very pleased. I've upgraded their punctuality score to an A.

"In addition to the deck reconstruction and refinishing, Michael built a porch overhang to allow me to create an outdoor cooking area out of the rain. He also replaced 3 windows with a new patio door to the newly refinished deck which opened up our kitchen and improved the flow of the house. New exterior lights were installed on the deck as well. One day, Michael noticed a water leak inside our house and quickly jumped into action and replaced a broken pipe inside a wall that would likely have caused major damage had he not fixed it so quickly.
