"Mr. Deione Wilson was very professional. came all the way from Virginia Beach to Hampton to gave me a free estimate for an aggregate walkway with stamped red brick border. I changed it from 4’ wide to 5’ and paid the difference. Mr. Wilson did a wonderful job! He exceeded my expectations! He listened to me and did exactly what I wanted. The entire work forced him to come out 5 times to my house, since there were many steps to the project. 1.Excavating and outlining the space 2.Laying dividers between the edge and the aggregate and pouring the terra-cotta concrete for the border 3.Pouring the aggregate concrete, put retarder on top and cover everything with plastic 4. Pressure washing the entire walkway to expose the aggregate and border colors. 5. Put sealant on driveway to protect it. Mr. Wilson does his work very diligently and is very precise. He had lots of experience in the concrete business. I am glad, I chose him out of several offers!"

"Initially Great! Jason came out and was very honest and knowledgeable. He shared what he would recommend to help with my structural damage / cracks and promptly sent out a report. After I made my decision to secure their services the contact  was lacking. A timeline or update would of put my mind at ease between the time they received the deposit and the actual services started. The work started and each day there was progress. Totally pleased. The final walk through: - Had a sticking door and was shown a trick to correct that by placing a rag in the door jam, the soil placed back in the ground was lumpy and full of brick/stone, brick mortar was not the right color but thought it would just lighten as it dried. A few months later...the mortar is definitely not the right color, there isn't a strap to hold down my downspouts and one of the downspouts fell off. I haven't contacted the company to correct as I will just live with the color and rig my own downspouts. The great news is I feel secure about the foundation work.

Initially, he seemed like he was very very knowledgeable, very friendly and gave us thoughts that he knew what he was doing. They arrived on time. They're very good. The crew was pretty quick and efficient. One problem I had was they didn't come with enough materials. They had to reschedule for a completion of some. There were some minor issues that we ran into. They were supposed to paint the chimney cap and never actually did that. It's not a big deal but the other thing was the warranty and we kind of had a fight with them for the warranty to actually be processed. The warranty was the big thing and it was a lifetime warranty and I guess there were personal things that came up. It was just basically what I've learned late, but it took us probably eight months to get the warranty to be processed. That was my biggest concern, but the warranty company ensures me that everything is good even though the paperwork has the wrong number on there and I am assuming that's because they had the wrong number initially which is why they didn't have enough material.

FAQs for concrete finishing, overlays & coloring application projects in Exmore, VA

With proper care, a stained concrete floor easily lasts 20 years or more. Reapply sealer every two to four years to protect against moisture, scratches, and daily wear. Routine sweeping, occasional damp mopping, and prompt repairs keep the surface looking sharp and protect the slab underneath, preserving both function and resale value.

Stained concrete can crack if the slab is exposed to extreme moisture changes, heavy impacts, or settling. Small hairline cracks are mainly cosmetic, but deeper fractures can affect the finish. Inspect the floor regularly, address moisture issues quickly, and hire a pro for timely repairs. Staying on top of maintenance prevents minor flaws from developing into larger, more costly problems.

The longevity of a concrete stain depends on the product you choose. Acid-based options chemically bond with the slab and are essentially permanent. Water-based stains sit on the surface and can be lightened, darkened, or covered with a new color at a later time. Select the stain type that aligns with your long-term design plans and your willingness to reapply the stain in the future.

You can update the color by cleaning the slab, lightly etching it, and applying a new layer of stain. Re-staining bonds to the concrete and resists peeling far better than paint. For a dramatic shift—such as moving from a dark acid stain to a lighter tone—you may need to grind the surface first. A flooring pro can advise on the best approach for your specific floor.

Stained concrete combines longevity with a modern, custom look. The finish resists heavy foot traffic, moisture, and everyday wear, so upkeep is minimal—routine sweeping and an occasional damp mop are usually enough. Because the color is inside the concrete, it won’t peel or flake like paint. Homebuyers also appreciate its sleek aesthetic and low maintenance, which can add a slight boost to your property's resale value.
