He prepared everything for the building permit and kept us informed through the lengthy process. When it came time to build, we were impressed with how meticulous the planning had been so that all the materials were on site. There weren't any delays once Ricardo and his team began. They were always on-time and worked so hard. My husband was impressed by some of the construction techniques that they used. The deck goes around two sides of the house and is two levels. Every seam was accurately cut. My husband and I designed the deck 34 years ago, but it had been poorly resurfaced. Deck Envy took our beloved design and breathed new life into it. The deck never looked so good. The brick patio underneath was showing its age plus part of it had to be torn up to install the new posts. I just expected that part to be restored, but a brick mason was sent to repair the entire patio.. It took years off the patio. This was far above what was expected. Ricardo and his team always kept up with clean-up daily so we did not have a dumpster parked in our yard. In record time, we were given a beautiful new deck. I strongly recommend Deck Envy. The work included excavating and leveling the site, pouring and re-enforcing the slab, and selecting and purchasing the stone, brick and other materials. In addition to the patio, Mottern also filled in an approx. 12 sq/ft section of brick wall where a door had been converted to a window. The filled-in brick and mortar matches the original 50-year old wall perfectly. Overall, the entire Mottern crew was prompt, responsive, professional, and very skillful. The price was fair (I had some higher estimates and some lower) and the quality of work was excellent with a good attention to detail. My original request was to just replace the stones the way they were, but he made recommendations on how to improve the patio (with the same amount of stones) that led to a much better final project."

"Well they have done another wonderful job! We are so impressed. We added a 30' X 6' upper level flagstone patio with 30 inch stone wall bracing the hill. In addition we added a flagstone walkway and steps. Four years ago CM Hardscapes built a flagstone patio and firepit on the right side of the hill. This year we had them add the new patio to the left side of the hill at a higher level with the pathway and steps to connect the two patios. Bill knew exactly what we wanted working from our excel drawn diagram. Jesus as supervisor worked with us on the details, listening to our considerations on critical parts of the project and adjusted accordingly if needed. His whole team executed it well and timely. It took them about 2 1/2 weeks from start to finish. Manuel and his son Daniel laid the flagstone and were well experienced in their craft. They were easy to work with throughout the process. Manuel helped us work through some of the key design questions such as the patio border and related structural questions. We appreciated his expertise. We highly recommend this company.
