We are pleased with the finished product.  There was a delay due to manufacturing (cutting machine) problems that needed to be repaired by the machine vendor.  Installation went smoothly.  Recommendations made by the company were useful.  We are glad we chose to go with a quartz surface.

"They were reasonably priced, were on time, worked efficiently and quicker than I expected, and cleaned up everything afterwards, making sure there were no nails for my cars, kids, or dogs to find. Great craftsmanship and skill. They also installed a solar light with minimal mess that looks and works well. I would highly recommend them."

"We had a very good experience working with European. Special callout to Maria for helping us make a decision on the stone and tile design and being very patient and professional. It was very easy to work with all the installers and they were on time on all days and did a very good job. Would definitely recommend them. The pricing was also very competitive and they made every effort to stay within my budget."

"Great value. Good stone and sink. The only drawback is that they left a huge gap in between dishwasher and countertop and said there is nothing they could do about it. I have to get a handyman to fix this."

"I hired Adrian to replace tile floors and install a new toilet, and he did a wonderful job. He and Pat were punctual, worked efficiently, were courteous, and showed a passion and attention to detail that I appreciated. Adrian suggested tile layouts that I hadn't considered and liked, and handled setbacks in stride, keeping the timeline: demolition was complicated by a hidden layer of vinyl flooring, and the toilet that I wanted to install was damaged during shipment. I would definitely recommend First Choice Grout and Tile."

FAQs for stone slab countertops installation (granite, marble, quartz, etc) projects in Fall City, WA

Soapstone countertops are durable, environmentally friendly, easy to maintain, non-porous, heat-resistant, and naturally antibacterial. They resist stains and cracks, making them a practical and long-lasting choice. However, soapstone has limited color options and can have visible seams in larger installations. It may also scratch or chip if not handled carefully and tends to have a higher initial cost than other materials. Overall, if you're looking for a functional and aesthetically pleasing countertop, soapstone is a solid choice despite these minor drawbacks.

Soapstone countertops typically come in light to dark gray, often with blue or green undertones. One of the unique features of soapstone is that it deepens in color over time, developing a rich patina that adds to its charm. Each slab is unique, with natural streaks and veining that become more pronounced as the countertop ages, giving your kitchen or bathroom a dynamic and evolving look.

With proper care, soapstone countertops can last 50 years or more. Regular cleaning with mild detergents and occasional applications of mineral oil to enhance the natural patina will keep your countertops looking beautiful. Thanks to its durable nature, soapstone stands up well for daily use, making it a wise long-term investment for your home.

Sealing isn't necessary for soapstone countertops. Soapstone is naturally non-porous and antibacterial, resists stains, and doesn't harbor bacteria. While you don't need to seal it, applying mineral oil occasionally can enhance its natural beauty and help develop a rich patina over time. This simple maintenance keeps your countertop looking its best for years to come.
