The work included excavating and leveling the site, pouring and re-enforcing the slab, and selecting and purchasing the stone, brick and other materials. In addition to the patio, Mottern also filled in an approx. 12 sq/ft section of brick wall where a door had been converted to a window. The filled-in brick and mortar matches the original 50-year old wall perfectly. Overall, the entire Mottern crew was prompt, responsive, professional, and very skillful. We would definitely use Mottern again."

"Existing plants (azaleas and iris) were moved and replaced without a problem. Carefully worked around old wisteria vine without issues. Wall was installed exactly as expected. Encountered unexpected problems with plugged existing drainage pipes which needed to be replaced. This was done at a minimum of extra cost and the replaced drainage system was better than the one originally in place. This understandably delayed completion of project by about a week which was otherwise on time and within budget. Staff was pleasant, knowledgeable and accessible. I definitely would use them again."

"CM did a great job on my project, which was removal of the existing three sides of a Baltimore brick wall, 8 foot high on the long axis and 30 feet long, with two other sides of the town house wall needing complete removal and rebuild, due the wall starting to literally fall over due to poor footings on the original construction 50 years ago when the home was build. This is an end unit town home. This job was scheduled for two weeks and that estimate was correct. I had several estimates, two that were almost identical and CM offered a 1000 dollar discount on their price if I started the job before Christmas. I agreed and all went well with the work. The phasing for demo and build went well and the clean up after was great. I would hire these guys again any time. The initial estimate was given hours after they came to my home to look at the wall, while others took days to come back with a price on work."

My finished project is a retaining wall (3 feet tall by 40 feet wide) and a patio (12x24 feet) with beautiful pavers on both. The landscaping around the wall and patio was just what I wanted with river rock and plants. He transplanted the young trees that I wanted to keep and helped me pick out plants for the rest of the project. I had not imagined including lighting, but Elijah suggested it, and the lighting is beautiful. I also had a walkway installed that matches the paver patio style. "I settled on Custom Stonescaping based on Ron, who came out to give us the estimate, which was by far the most reasonable. Ron spend tons of time explaining the project to me. We needed a new patio because 10 years ago I hastily elected to have a stamped concrete patio put in. Within 2 years, it was noticeably deteriorating. Frustrated that I had spent 75% of what a stone patio would have costed, I looked for someone to fix it, but eventually found that fixing it was not possible. If I wanted it to look good, I would have to start from scratch. Ron promised the flagstone patio would be more durable and look terrific, he was right! Also, the team that did the work were incredibly polite, responsive when I had (probably dumb) questions and absolutely meticulous about cleaning up. the result is fantastic! can't recommend this company enough.
