"My spec home came with carpeted basement stairs that I didn’t care for at the beginning and after nearly three years of wear the builder grade product was looking shabby. The first contractor I discussed changing the surface to hard wood said it could not be done; the second might be able to do the conversion but wasn’t interested in the job. I found H&H Hardwood through Angie’s List and was pleasantly surprised. Mr. Fier responded to my voice mail promptly and arrived at the appointed time to study the project. He was incredibly thorough and clearly discussed alternatives. He promised a detailed proposal in a few days and produced the most detailed project description I’ve encountered in the course of many remodeling projects. After reaching an agreement and establishing a schedule, Dan and his crew arrived promptly each day, tackled the carpet removal, tread modifications and structural improvements in an organized, professional manner. The existing shop built stairs were refaced with ½” red oak and the finished project exceeds expectations. It would be difficult to find evidence that these steps were not constructed with hard wood at the initial build. After a good discussion I decided to have the stairs finished with Rubio Monocoat versus the more traditional stain covered by multiple layers of polyurethane. The penetrating Monocoat offers easier touchups and a much shorter application/curing time versus urethane. Dan made every effort to match the engineered hardwood flooring covering my main floor and the stain match is excellent. In short I am very pleased to recommend H&H Hardwood of Front Royal, VA for your hardwood needs. In this era where customer service is so often a forgotten skill, it was wonderful to deal with a pleasant person who clearly knows his business, arrives on time, leaves the premises spotless after every workday and provides an excellent product."

"Prospect Hardwood Flooring just completed installing 3/4 inch Oak wood floors at my house. The crew had to move heavy furniture, remove the rugs and padding, and remove tack strips. They carefully listened for areas where the subfloor squeaked when stepped on, then screwed those areas to stop the floor from squeaking. The installation from start to finish was flawless from my perspective. All joints are tight. Of particular note is the cove molding. The Miter joints are perfect, and I can't tell where the nails were placed. Cleanup was immaculate too. I've seen the negative reviews here, and I respect the opinions of the people who posted them. Clearly something happened when their jobs were done. When Mike came to my house to give me an estimate, I grilled him on those negative posts. I wanted to hear what he had to say. As one would imagine, there are always two sides to every story. If you are considering hardwood floors, you really need to get an estimate from Mike, and discuss any concerns you have. I'm so glad I did. The floors look amazing."

They were patient and professional, gave us a competitive price, had a ton of wood flooring options to choose from, and installed beautiful oak and walnut floors in several rooms of our new house. I recommend going into their store to look at the selection rather than just browsing online, because they have more samples there and it's easier to see the true color of the wood in person. District Floors Depot was also flexible when there was an unforeseen power outage at our residence, and was able to reschedule us and complete the work quickly in time for our moving date. Finally, they did a really good job cleaning up and the place was gleaming and spotless after they were done. I highly recommend them!"

"Outstanding. Marcin came to the house right away and gave us an estimate. Once the insurance company paid the damage claim, we got scheduled in a week and work started right on time. He had the right sized crew of four who were able to get everything done from moving big furniture around, stripping the old flooring out and installing the new hardwood floor. The floor is beautiful and perfectly installed. They had taken photos of each room so they knew exactly where to put everything back. They finished up by giving the whole floor a good cleaning up. We hope we never need another floor replacement but have no doubt that Magniflooring is the go to place."

Since I already had the wood planks, they needed to have the appropriate thickness of plywood (?) to place beneath the replacement planks. It was outstanding work! "Brian from Torres flooring reached out to me immediately after I submitted my request, and quickly gave me a quote and did the repair that day! We had a small section of our vinyl floor cut out by our previous owners to install a wooden railing. We removed the railing and needed the flooring patched with some of the flooring we had stored away. I contacted so many floor companies who said the job was 'too risky' and declined the job, or told us we needed to replace the entire floor (for like $5k). Brian was super friendly and said he could do the job no problem, understood what we needed done, and did a great job! "A year ago, we had William refinish our floors; he did a great job-- also on painting! Sadly, during the year a dog became in ill an unbeknownst to us had accidents on a rug covering the newly done floors- the moisture seeped into the wood; it needed to be repaired. William did the repair for a reasonable price. Unfortunately, initially the repair didn't look good- I contacted William. He came back and agreed that it didn't come out as he'd hoped (he'd had to replace boards, re-stain and varnish the area). He came back again, re-did the work for no additional fee and it looks GORGEOUS. He showed great integrity and commitment to quality- his disappointment in the original repair was evident on his face. He is not always super quick to get back to you- but I found him to be responsive to polite persistence. He is now my "floor guy"-- we're moving and he'll be the person I call for any flooring related needs."
