"What a joy to see in today's world: pride and ownership of services provided; Jared C. and his crew delivered just that. We turned to Home Advisor after a few failed attempts to find a contractor on our own for a total bathroom remodel. We filled out the questionnaire and were pleased when Jared Clairmont responded within a short period of time. We set up a meeting. Our first impressions of Jared were based on his punctual arrival, his friendliness, and the fact that he listened carefully to what our goals were. Soon after, he returned a detailed quote to us as well as concrete start and end dates for the project. Our second impressions came when he and his exceptional crew began the project, again punctual. We felt we were on the right path with our decision to hire him. As the project moved forward, Jared was communicative every step of the way. If there was a question we needed or wanted addressed, Jared responded quickly. Every communication was pleasant and supportive of our needs to understand what we were observing as the project matured. We threw him a few curve balls in the form of last-minute changes, which were received just as pleasantly as every other communication, and he and his crew delivered with ease. It must be said that we are not easy people to please. This is our home and we expected compliance with our wishes, quality of workmanship, and above all else, honesty. In all of these aspects we were completely satisfied. We will turn to Jared in the future for our home improvement needs. Kelly and Del L."

"It went perfectly. I called and spoke to the office immediately. They came out the next day on a Sunday prepared to give an estimate and complete the job. Everything is done. They performed quality work with quality products, very professional, clean-cut, honest, efficient, fair price. We are very happy and highly recommend them."

"The carpenter was excellent - he completed everything and more. He even replaced some of the shingles attacked by the woodpecker on the outside of the house. If I need a carpenter again, I would definitely have him come back! The other young man was also good -- he did a nice job with the sheet rock but the plaster was protruding a bit even after we sanded it down. He was not able to place the radiator cover over the heating system in the bathroom but to his defense, I don't believe that was in his job description or area of expertise. Overall, we were pleased and Tracy was very friendly and made me feel at ease with all of my questions."

"It is very convenient, and reasonably priced.  The only thing that they could work on is the punctuality of the pick up times.  The rest of the experience was satisfactory.  My daughter has also used them.  I would highly recommend this service."

"When we moved in our house in 2007, the raised back deck had railings that were scary.  Virtually no protection for small children.  Was not a big deal since I had teenage children but we always wanted to fix it.  Finally, when we had our very young niece and nephew visiting, we decided the time was right to make this deck safer.  <br /> We asked Rich to replace the rails with one of those pricey cable rail systems.  He did all the research to determine cost, design constraints, specificiations etc.  He quote a fair price and we asked him to get the job done before our visitors arrived and he worked hard to get the rails fully installed before the kiddies arrived.  He has a good eye for design and made suggestions that improved the asthetics of the deck.  The work done was of high quality.  We were thrilled. <br /> We also asked him to paint the front deck on the house.  He again quoted a fair price and the work was done in a high quality fashion.  <br /> Rich did a great job and we love the end result!!! <br /> We ran into delays with the town permit.  Rich handled all interactions with town, addressed all requirements by the town and successfully worked with the town to get permit and then C.O. <br /> BTW: we love the cable systems since it presevered our view from the deck but it is not for the faint of heart.  The material is expensive compared to normal railings. <br />"

"Usually doing our own work around the house, this was our first major investment in home improvement.  My husband thought about doing the work on his own, but we were convinced that this would be a worthwhile investment, especially since it was important for it to be done right.  After making calls to three businesses we received references for (Upton Landscape being the only one from Angie?s List), we received an immediate response from Shawn Upton, the owner.  He came to our home within 2 days of the initial call, spoke with us about exactly what we wanted, took measurements, drew various designs, and gave an estimate within days of visiting.  <br /> <br /> We did receive other estimates and chose Shawn based on the fair price, his ideas for the patio area, his other excellent reviews on this website, and just a good ?vibe?.  He has a calm and patient attitude and his work reflects it.  He is very thoughtful and quite the perfectionist.  <br /> <br /> When meeting Shawn, we were drawn to his creativity.  It is obvious in his manner that he takes his work seriously and enjoys designing with customers? input.  We were indecisive about what color pavers to use on our project.  He drove us to 6 different homes in the local area he had completed (one being the one who reviewed on 2/16/12 ? we were there when Shawn noticed the paver shifting and heard him say he would be back to fix it).  Just the way he interacted with his former customers said volumes.  He had a lot of patience with us and never seemed bothered by all the questions we had?that was impressive. <br /> <br /> The project took about 2 weeks with weather.  We received almost daily updates from Shawn on the project's progress.  He was not onsite with the workers (who were all friendly) all the time, but did check their work at the end of each day.  He also dropped by on a regular basis while they were working to check on the progress.  When we called or had a question, he would call back the same day.  He is NOT the type of contractor who has to be hunted down, only to get a call back days or weeks later. <br /> <br /> The only con (if you could call it that) would be all the choices we were given?Shawn is very flexible, but gives advice freely (and we are very happy we chose the Fire Island pavers with his input). <br /> <br /> You would not believe how good it feels to come home, get out of the car, and open our back gate to the sanctuary that Shawn created.  I smile every day and know that we made an excellent choice and were blessed to have him work with us.  It was worth every penny.  <br /> <br /> Highly recommend. <br />"

"Excellent! Superb! Fantastic! Darrell and his crew worked tirelessly at a steady pace and their work was impeccable. Darrell was very knowledgeable about the age of our home and the best way to remodel it. For instance, the full bathroom was almost 100% original to the house. He and his crew did as we asked - added modern/updated fixtures to our home while preserving the integrity of its age and original aesthetic. He tiled a new shower for us and it is gorgeous. He installed a specialized macerating toilet in our basement and built a bathroom around it "from scratch" and that was a last-minute project we requested! When Darrell encountered problems due to the home's age or the fault of the home improvement store, he kept a positive attitude and found us the most cost-effective solution. He had great suggestions regarding both materials and planning/layout. He and his crew worked diligently and kept tools/equipment out of our way when they left each day. Darrell explained all costs, kept receipts for us to review and we found the cost to be well worth all the wonderful new changes. We never felt like we were paying for something we didn't get. Darrell consistently kept us informed throughout the process. I have worked with other good contractors before, but this company IS THE BEST! We will be calling him in the future for other projects, as needed."

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Falls-village, CT

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
