"We hired Sage landscaping to create a new backyard that involved clearing trees, regrading, and installing a retaining wall. From start to finish, I couldn't have been more pleased with the work and the end result. Ed Sage provided some very good advice in the design phase that really helped the project immensely in the end. The whole team that worked on the project was impressive and demonstrated a strong work ethic, competence, and a desire to do things the right way. No supervision needed, which is rare. I could completely trust the team. There were no slackers on the team and no one cutting corners. The whole team brought a "can-do" attitude which was a pleasure to deal with when changes were required from original project scope. They strived throughout to ensure that I was happy with the work. While Sage wasn't the cheapest upfront, I believe they were the best value given the quality of work delivered. I will certainly be using Ed and his team going forward for all my landscaping needs."

"Rafael was so knowledgeable and helpful. The front of our house was covered with years of overgrown bushes, a huge job. Rafael and his crew pulled it all out, installed new plants and flowers, and leveled the front yard with new soil and grass that filled in beautifully. He advised us what plants to choose for the sunlight and conditions of our yard, and on the care and watering needed to maintain them. And he did it all for a competitive price and on time. We will be continuing to give Rafael more work. Very pleased. Thank you, Rafael!"

BUYER BEWARE.  I hate long reviews...but I wish someone rang the warning bell with a review of their experiences before we used Ernest & Sons.

To be fair In the end the job was done--but at what cost?  We worked with Jose a few years back to replace our driveway.  Jose and team did an excellent job.  So when we wanted to have our patio and walkway done we called Ernest and sons again.  This time we dealt with Ernest.  Initially he was nice and helpful showing me other patios completed.  We were very specific on timing to finish the project he was in agreement understanding weather delays could impact the completion.

Once the contract was signed ...communications on their side stopped.  We had to call several times to see when the project would start. Once the job started the guys on site were nice but they did not speak much English and there no project manager to check in to see how things were going.

When the job was done there was light rain and we noticed pools of water on the patio.  I put paper cups in the standing water and took pictures.  I contacted Ernest he came out and never conceded there was a problem as he looked at the standing water.  However he sent a crew back (again we had not paid yet) to remove the pavers and ensure it was level. They removed pavers in different areas 5 TIMES to level the patio.  While I truly appreciate their efforts...why didn't the first crew simply get it right.

DAMAGES TO OUR YARD AND NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR.  In the process of building our patio they drove trucks onto our yard

and the neighbors damaging both yards.  I immediately took pictures and called Ernest--he assured me all damages would be taken care of.  When the job was complete his guys put seeds down and we paid in full.  However almost a month later there were only spots of grass and both yards still damaged.

I called again sent more pictures and he sent another crew that told my husband they were putting  down the 'good stuff this time' (really). We watered the lawns twice a day same as before...the damage is still there are now we have to pay out of pocket to fix our lawn and our neighbors!

ICING ON THE CAKE.  Company called and asked if Ernest could bring a potential customer to see the patio. My husband agreed assuming he could talk to Ernest about damages.  Ernest was no show...they gave the prospects our address...and to our surprise two strangers walked into our backyard without even ringing the doorbell. I do not fault the couple but Ernest and Sons for handling this entire job so unprofessionally.

If you still choose to use this merchant ...good luck and get in writing how damaged will be handled.

"We looked around at a number of 'high-rated' landscape companies to help us redo our entire front landscape and more. Ours had been overgrown, with trees blocking the house and a walkway that sunk into the ground leaving a large first step to the porch. After we called a number of these companies, Scenic View sent Pat, one of their experienced sales and design people. First off, Pat was great. Comparing him to the other reps who came to talk to us is really not a fair comparison. Patient, helped with design ideas, concerned about the look and maintainability, deers, etc. Not only easy to work with, but eager to help you visualize the design and offers great 3D drawings by which we could review and modify our initial thoughts. Scenic View is a great one-stop-shop. Not only did we have them do the landscaping, which included removing 3 trees from our front yard, removing a whole bunch of bushes, leveling multiple beds that were built up with rocks and mulch, but also they redid our entire front porch. Although they had hoped to just remove the brick and relayer a new front, they came prepared for anything, and in the end, they removed the whole porch and rebuilt it, and helped us select beautiful veneer stone. We also had them do pavers from the street to the new front porch in an aesthetically appealing swerving design (laid out by Pat), and also extended to our driveway. They also put in a new walkway from our driveway to the back deck, giving guest a path to walk - especially when the grass was really wet. Finally, they put in low-voltage lights, with new lights throughout the front of the house and then pathway lights on the walkway to the driveway. To make sure there really was no mud, they laid sod down to all areas they had basically destroyed with the equipment and supplies that were trucked in. They also cleaned EVERYTHING! To say the transformation was large is an understatement. During the process, Scenic's owner, Frankie came and supervised part of the process too. He helped with new suggestions on the landscaping, made sure that adequate supplies were there (they needed more pavers), helped add new pathway lights, and in the end worked to ensure that everything was to our satisfaction. We ended up spending more than we originally thought we would, but we also finished off more than we had intended. It was a great investment. Our house picture at street level in Google earth showed a bunch of trees and what looked like a house hiding behind them. Now, the landscape, lights, and front are so good, the curb appeal is amazing. One last thing about Scenic's crews. We used two crews, one for the majority of the hardscapes, and clearing of old landscaping, and one for the back hardscape and all the landscape and sodding. Any company is only as good as its crews, and Scenic has winners. They were hardworking, dedicated, and when you speak to them, they will go out of their way to help you if you have a question or want something changed or fixed. They finished everything in 2 weeks. When I look back and ask myself "was this a good investment?", both my wife and I are extremely happy. Scenic even helped arrange and coordinate the new sprinkler system we installed to ensure it was done at the appropriate time, laid conduit under the pavers to allow them to run their lines, and Frank came back after all was done and the sod was laid to ensure that the heads would pop in the new grass. Comparing Pat, Frank, and all at a very professionally run Scenic View versus other contractors (even those who were recommended on this site) who didn't even provide quotes or drawings, and had less a full line of services, is really a no-brainer. Save yourself tons of aggravation and expense (Scenic is very reasonably priced), call Pat and Frank. Now I'll use them for my landscape maintenance too! Thanks, Scenic View!"

"We recently added an extension to our home and when the construction was done realized that something was missing. Although we had made our home more functional, the space and grounds surrounding our home looked tired and uninviting. So we called Craig to help us. My wife said, "I want something beautiful to look at with a special seating area at the foot of our yard". Those were the only instructions. Craig transformed our property into something very special for us; adding beautiful landscape, accent lighting and a unique seating area that we intend to use for a quiet space and fire pit entertaining. We have used Craig and his design services three times in the past 25 years and he has never failed to impress. Craig has created something that we will enjoy every day for many years to come."

"AG Landscaping is fantastic to work with. AG is reliable, professional, arrives on time, completes the work quickly, prices are fair and my home looks beautiful. I have also hired him to redo my deck. I highly recommend using AG Landscaping."

"I hired Lord and Tree Service to remove 5 trees from my property. They did excellent job. I’m very happy with the results. Very professional service. Very well organized crew. All the work area was cleaned out after the job was done. No mess left behind. I highly recommend Lord and Tree Service for their job well done. Five Stars!"

"I was very satisfied with the installation.  The workers arrived on time, worked efficiently, and from all indications the installed product is of high quality.  The supervisor was extremely helpful with the planning and managed the job well.  He responded quickly when I notified the company a few days after the installation that some adjustment was needed on three of the sprinklers. The supervisor, workers, and the office staff that I interacted with were professional in every way.  I would not hesitate to recommend this company.   "

"All Jersey Landscape did a fantastic job removing old bushes then designing and replacing with new shrubs and perennials. They also did a fall cleanup. They were extremely professional and reliable."

"I have an annual contract where they take care of the lawn with 4 different applications of different products depending on what is needed. I like the appearance of the lawn, they do a good job. Interactions with them were fine. I'm pleased with the way the lawn looks. After applications report back, in writing, anything they observe that could be taken care of whether they are contracted for it or not."
