"Santos was very professional, personable, expedient and efficient. He explained why the carpet was buckling and explained what he would do to rectify it. He also ensured I checked the end results of his work. Santos cleaned up after his work by collecting the cuttings and vacuuming the carpet. I most definitely recommend him!"

"

We bought a new house and the existing carpet in basement was in very bad shape.  Sue came over and showed us some samples of carpets and spent over 2 hours with us going through the different types.  In the end we went with a Shaw nylon passageway I and premium padding at an incredible price .  We also got quotes from other vendors and their price for the same product was much higher.  Sue was also very helpful in color selection.  She knows Benjamin Moore paints very well and is able to visualize and explain what the room will look like with different carpet colors.

Her service is excellent, she always returns phone calls and emails and also called to follow-up after installation.  Her installation crew were also excellent.  They were on time and highly professional.  My basement looks fabulous!!  I would highly recommend this company for carpets!

"From demo to install the workmanship was top shelf. Th crew they used never stopped working from the moment they arrived. They worked neatly with very little debris, there install was meticulous and there precision cutting and trim out was perfect. There owner stopped by my home and made sure his job was going well and was very personable. This is the second time I used them ,first time was to re-finish floors and second time to install floors. I have done residential construction for 35 years and seen many different levels of quality, if you want good looking floors professionally installed or refinished I recommend Prestige wood flooring for complete satisfaction !!!"

"Nelson and his wife did an excellent job in installing carpeting in 2 bedrooms and closets. They kept their appointments. They finished on time. They cleaned up nicely afterwards. There prices are very reasonable. We're very happy with the carpet install service they provided to us; We'll definitely use them again."

"Overall the work was great.
The sales and carpet installation by Empire Carpet was both great deals. Empire gave us two rooms of carpeting for the price of one room in other places. And that was installed over padding. We were very satisfied with the carpet installation too. It went very smoothly. The crew was friendly and did everything as expected.

FAQs for carpet repair, refasten, or stretch projects in Farmingdale, NJ

Removing a rug costs around $0.40 to $0.50 per square foot. This includes the fee for a contractor to roll up the rug and haul it away in a vehicle for disposal or recycling. If they need to move furniture, they might charge an additional $0.25 to $0.30 per square foot of furniture.

If your carpet has minor damage—like a single area that requires stretching, patching, or cleaning—it might be less expensive to pay for carpet repair than remove and replace it. Repairing carpet costs around $210 per project.

The cost of carpet cleaning is about $190 for a three-bedroom home, so it’s a good idea to have your carpet cleaned at least once a year. But most carpeting only lasts 10 years. If your carpet is nearing the end of its life span, it might be more cost-effective to remove and replace your carpet than to clean and repair it. The average cost to install a new carpet is about $1,800.

Search our directory of carpet removal companies and services to find an affordable, screened contractor near you. All HomeAdvisor listings are vetted, reviewed, and rated by homeowners, so you can be sure to find a local pro qualified for your project. Get at least three quotes to compare prices and the timeline for your project.

Commercial carpet removal usually costs on the lower end of the carpet removal price range, around $1.10 per square foot or even less. Carpet installation contractors often offer discounted rates for larger projects, like commercial carpet removal and installation. Similarly, you might be able to negotiate a lower residential carpet removal cost if the carpet is pulled up throughout your entire home.

Most cities accept old carpets as bulk trash, but you may need to schedule a special pickup and prepare the carpet properly. Remove any nails or glue residue, cut the carpet into manageable pieces, and roll and secure them. Alternatively, you can take your old carpet to a local recycling center for a small fee, where it can be processed and repurposed.

Yes, you can remove carpet yourself if you're ready for a labor-intensive task. DIY carpet removal requires heavy lifting and tools like utility knives, pliers, and pry bars. The process is generally straightforward but time-consuming for stapled-down carpet. If your carpet is glued down or you're worried about damaging the subfloor, hiring a professional is best to ensure the job is done safely and efficiently.
