"Bob repaired wood rot on one of our entry door frames. He was easy to get in touch with, courteous, and prompt. He carved out the wood rot and replaced the area with a new piece of wood. Others quoted less, but their solution was to patch the rotted area with Bondo (wood filler) and paint over it."

"We wanted to add an under deck ceiling so that we can enjoy the patio during rainy weather. We were very pleased with the work that they provided us. When they came out to look at the project I wanted done they listened to me and provided me with different options and ideas which I appreciated. They kept me updated throughout the project and We were very happy with the craftsmanship and end product. We also think that the cost of the project was very reasonable! Thank you for your professionalism and a job well done!"

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."

"UPDATE: On 1/30/13 Frank Jr. contacted me concerning the original review I had listed on Angie's list. He was calling to offer to send out a crew to replace the top railing and stain them at the same time. After consideration we accepted his offer and from that point on he did everything he said that he would do. The two gentleman he sent out to do the work were professional and did a great job with the carpentry work. I will say that if this is how it was handled originally, I would have no problems giving this company an A or B. We are satisfied with the final product and Frank reassured us to call if there were any future problems. Thank you Frank Jr. For reaching out to us and trying to make things right... I will not get into the details of the entire experience because there are way to many but what I will do is offer photos of the finished work to anyone who wishes to inquire at wildheart17@gmail.com - I am not trying to bash the company in no way but when you are told before the project begins about how professional they are and how they only use top quality products you expect better. Frank Jr. has made several attempts to correct our issues but we are 3 months out and are still not 100% satisfied. I am sure the company will come back with a rebuttal but lets remember pictures DON'T LIE, so please inquire to see the proof yourself...
Thank you!!!"

"The experience was outstanding! Doors and More completed a thorough survey of the premises prior to submitting a proposal and cost estimate. The quality of the work was excellent, the quality of the workmanship was excellent and Isaac Weeks was very personable in his approach to explaining in detail the project, materials required and timeline for completion."

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Farmington, GA

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
