"We recently bought a house in the N. Cascades with 1 acre of property teaming with deer, elk, coyotes and even bear. We needed a fence to keep our dogs in, wildlife out, with protected space for gardening AND no loss of views on all 4 sides. We thought we would end up with an ugly chainlink fence. But Marcelino, the owner of PG Landscape, built us a strong metal wire fence with a beautiful wood frame that met all our needs PERFECTLY! He helped us create a plan to accommodate all our needs, then built a fence that had to go up and down hills and through the woods in places. It is both a strong, utilitarian animal fence and a beautiful, see-through fence that maintains all our views, and enhances our property. Marcelino and his crew are perfectionists with the most amazing work ethic! They triply measured and checked everything. We've never seen a crew work as hard or as carefully as this one. Marcelino was in charge of every detail, and his team exuded pride in their workmanship. 100% recommendation!"

"We got Matt's name from our neighbor and found him to be a pleasant guy. He stopped by to check out our potential job and offered possibilities for pavers; gave us the name of the company he uses to supply pavers so we could see them first hand. We agreed on the scope of the job and a starting date.
The job started 3 days later than expected because his prior customer added something at the last minute. But when they arrived, they got right to work removing our concrete porches, all walkways and the driveway. They pulled out the tree in front of our stairwell window that had gotten overgrown and a Japanese lace leaf maple that was also too big in a separate bed. They hauled away concrete so it could be recycled as crushed gravel to reuse as the layer directly under the pavers. Loved the recycle/reuse idea. Excess dirt and plantings were removed and the grading began.
They began placing the pavers at the foot of the driveway, working toward the garage and house. We chose a pattern called "ashlar" and pavers from Pacific Slate called "sandalwood". The trim blocks along all sides were 4" x 4" blocks from Pacific Slate in "shadow". The placing of the pavers takes quite a bit of time but it's worth the time and labor.  Matt's wife, Tif, brought new plants and placed them in the new beds and put bark on top.  We had them put in an Alpine Fir in one bed and Matt suggested a Green Arrow Alaska Cedar in the bed in front of the stairwell.
Several days after the final pavers were laid and plantings finished, a clear coat of sealer was rolled on the walkways, driveway and porches.  It looks great and we are very pleased.

"I needed a garden path from my house to my art studio, and I wanted it to match the concrete path already going from my house to the garage. Not a big job, but American Concrete Construction was willing to take it on. Their main guy, Sinisia Moli, came right out one day to evaluate the job, then returned the next day to survey, dig out the path, frame it, and put in rebar. Cement was poured the following day. And now I have my garden path. Which, incidentally, matches the other, much older path perfectly. ... Sinisia Moli of American Concrete Construction is a man of experience, good aesthetics, and common sense. He is also friendly, upbeat, and generally a pleasure to have around. Best of all, unlike so many of his colleagues who work in various construction trades, Moli talks to women. He doesn’t insist on talking to your husband. ... I am definitely keeping American Concrete Construction in mind for future projects."

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Ferndale, WA

Installing interlocking pavers takes between four and 10 days, depending on the project's size and complexity. The process involves careful excavation, precise leveling, and building a stable base before placing the pavers. Larger projects or challenging site conditions may require more time to ensure a durable and attractive result that stands the test of time.

It's not recommended to place pavers directly on dirt. For the best results, you'll need to lay a foundation of gravel or sand to create a leveled and compacted base. This ensures proper drainage below the pavers, preventing erosion and shifting over time. An uneven or unstable base can cause the pavers to move or settle improperly, affecting the appearance and longevity of your installation.

Installing interlocking pavers yourself involves rigorous preparation and careful execution. This DIY approach requires excavation, precise leveling, and building a proper base using gravel or sand to ensure stability. The project demands at least two to three full days of intensive manual work and the use of specialized tools. Alternatively, hire a paver installer for professional results.

Concrete stone and clay brick pavers are the top choices for homeowners. They offer robust performance and an attractive finish that elevates outdoor living areas. These materials are engineered for superior durability and design flexibility, ensuring long-term strength and style. Selecting the right paver type maximizes the overall appeal and functionality of your space while meeting all design and performance standards.
