"Their roof repair services go beyond any industry standards. Having to deal with many contractors, we as property management company have found peace of mind when it comes to such services. Ari and Elijah is exceptional and efficient. They have helped several times to fix many of roof leaks in the building we manage. We always thank their hard work."

"Rob and Aiden helped us with the build out of a rental unit. The amount of work that they did in one week was far beyond what we had anticipated they would be able to accomplish, and would have taken us 5-6 weeks on our own, at least. We're so grateful for the work they did for us as it alleviated a lot of stress and their quality of work is great."

These guys are amazing!! I had two other companies turn the job down for various legitimate reasons, and when Jeff came out, he was concerned as well. The house is 15 years old, and until recently, was overly shaded from trees to the South. One issue was the size of the job, since it's a 4,000sqft house with a nearly 7,000sqft roof. Actually, the real issue was the danger of the job.

First off, there are no tie-offs on the roof since they weren't required when it was built. Secondly, the ridiculous pitch in some areas of the roof are up to 16:12. Thirdly, it's a slate-like surface made of a composite of cement and fiber. And Lastly, it's a two story house on a steep property overlooking Burrows Bay, with a 'crawl-space' that goes from 3' to 15' on the downhill side. Add that to the two stories (10ft ceilings) above and it was more than 40 feet from the top to the rocks below.

Jeff decided to take it on himself, and it took the three days he estimated just for the roof. Another two days, and with the help of Kip, and the guys had the house and property looking new again.

These guys were everything I could ask for. They're very polite and professional. Excellent communication regarding time frame and expected days to be on the job (this was April, and rain/wind was a factor). The bid matched the final invoice. And the quality of the work was top notch. So much so, that the appreciative neighbors on our private street have suggested we consider them for cleaning our street prior to resealing it.

Would I use Jeff and Kip again? Heck yeah!!!  Would they want to? Haha, who knows...

FAQs for shed, barn or playhouse building service projects in Ferndale, WA

Most sheds larger than six feet by eight feet require a foundation to remain level and dry. A compact tool shed might get by without one, but anything heavier should sit on at least a 4-inch-thick stone-and-gravel pad that extends two feet past the walls. The gravel protects wood skids and promotes drainage. If you want maximum stability—and your budget allows—a poured concrete slab is the strongest option.

Your ideal shed size hinges on purpose. A common 10-by-12-foot kit gives you 120 square feet—plenty for lawn tools and bikes. Need just a spot for a mower and a few rakes? A compact 4-by-7-foot model should work. If you’re envisioning a workshop or hobby room, look at 12-by-16 feet or larger.

A good rule is to raise the shed floor four to six inches above the surrounding soil. That clearance encourages water to drain away instead of pooling beneath the structure. The simple step is especially important for wood floors and skids, helping deter rot, mold, and insect damage while extending the life of your new outbuilding.

Choose the route that fits your goals. Prefab sheds arrive in standard layouts and go up fast—perfect for basic storage on a tight timeline. Custom builds cost more and take longer, but let you add windows, wiring, plumbing, and unique finishes. Balance budget, features, and timeframe before deciding which type of shed is best for your needs.
