"Octavio, Hector and their team did a great job replacing my roof. Most roofers give you one quote for the one product they install but Octavio gave me 2 quotes, one for Owens Corning Duration and another for Malarkey Highlander. It was nice to be able to choose between the two different manufacturers. He told me he’d match any quote for the same material but he didn’t need to. I got a quote from two other roofers. Another local roofer quoted similarly to Gomez’s more expensive option and a corporate roofing company quoted about twice Gomez’s cheaper option and spam calls me twice a day now. I also got a rough estimate from another one of their corporate competitors a couple years back for 5k over what I paid and still get spam calls from them. Seriously, support a local small business. Don’t even give your number to a corporate contractor unless you’re lonely and want someone to call you daily. The Gomez team was available within 2 weeks of getting the contract. They had the old roof off and almost half the new roof on in the first day. They worked through lunch and were done around 1 on day 2. After finishing, they let me come up and inspect their work. It looked great. They replaced all the flashing, painted all the vents to match the roof, put in a ridge vent and a tear proof moisture barrier(every selling point their corporate competitors used to justify their high price aside from “factory trained installers”). They even threw in an additional vent for my new range hood for free. If I had any critique, it would be that the calking around the plumbing vents turned out a little messy but that’s a minor detail. Octavio seemed flexible with how much each payment would be; however, I was comfortable with his original proposal. He accepted most forms of payment(but he uses Square for card payment which charges a 3% transaction fee). He came by at my convenience to collect each payment. I’m very happy with how it turned out and how hard they worked to get it done in a timely manor. You don’t get work ethic, customer service and quality like this from a weekend class in Bakersfield."
