"I purchased the Angie's List deal of four hours of Handyman's services for $99.
It took a while to schedule, firstly, because it was mainly outdoor work, and when we couldn't find a date in the fall, I waited until the spring.After that, the company was very unresponsive when I tried to arrange an appointment. At one point, I offered a three week window when he could pick his four hours and didn't hear from him.
I thought someone would come by ahead of time to discuss what I was looking for, maybe give me an idea of what the time frame would be for the various tasks. But I was only asked for a description of the jobs over the phone. On the scheduled morning, the company still wasn't sure what I was asking or even if they needed a ladder. (They eventually borrowed mine).
The concrete patching started cracking within days of the job. I called the company about this, but they didn't get back to me.
The carpentry work was sufficient, but  the work didn't allow my door to close. The workers were in their truck and about to leave when I noticed this.
They didn't bother to cleanup the sawdust.
I don't know why Finished Edge wants to be on Angie's List, much less offer special deals, when the follow up with such mediacre work.

"They arrived on time and immediately went to work perfoming the job I needed done. They added new electrical outlets and replaced some outdated outdoor lighting. In addition, they corrected a problem with how the switches were setup in my kitchen. They also pointed out future upgrades that needed addressing. There were gaps in between bath fixtures and wall and a sloppy attempt was made to caulk but gaps remained.  Extremely bad spackle jobs on the walls and ceiling.  Spackle was not sanded down properly and the seams are noticeable on the wall.  To avoid finishing the grout on the floor, the vanity was installed over the part not grouted however the vanity does not reach the floor and incomplete work is noticeable.  Exhaust fan stopped working and recently the bolt on toilet has become lose causing the toilet to shift.  It was less then a year ago when this work was completed.  I now have to hire a company to correct their mistakes.  Poor communication with the owner.  Requested additional services but did not receive (but also did not pay for).  No one followed up to check completed work or my satisfaction. So many issues...to little space and time.  Maybe they got overwhelmed with work and I got the short end of the stick.
