"Stone Central did a great job on my recent need in kitchen countertops with an acceptable price. Many thanks to Bonni, Heather and the team at Stone Central. They were nice and easy to work with, and very customer oriented in design, material selection, layout and fabrication. The installation team was also good not only on installing the new countertops but also pulling off the old. They responded to all after installation questions efficiently and had all potential issues professionally addressed. I strongly recommend Stone Central and will use them again for my future needs."

"The Technicians showed up on time and assess my problem. They measured and trimmed my Granite countertops so that my stove would slip right in. They tried to minimize the dust. They cleaned up and wiped down the effected areas! In my Forty years of Facility Management, this was the best team and service that I have seen!!! I highly recommend this Company!!!!"

"After much research, I selected Ascar Marble & Granite for my new countertops and vanities. I liked that our first meeting was at the big stone supplier, so I could pinpoint exactly what type of stone and colors I liked. Before that, my vision was somewhat unclear. I liked not being limited to choose from a few small samples. They were responsive and very easy to communicate with throughout the remodel process. They were also priced lower than some of their competitors. From the time we made our decision on the stones and measurements were taken, our new countertops and vanities were in place in only a few days. Our expectations were certainly exceeded!"

"I had my entire house remodeled by a contractor and chose to have the countertops done by someone of my choice. They installed my beautiful countertops in my kitchen but the contractor was not ready with the vanities yet. I ended up needing to have them come measure and install them in the same week because the contractor had fallen behind and the plumber need to get his part done. They were so accommodating and efficient. I love all of my countertops, they are one of my favorite things with my total remodel. Could not be more pleased with their work!!!"

"I have white tile in my kitchen that had not been cleaned since we moved into our home 20 years ago. Needless to say, the grout was dirty and the tiles were dingy looking. Atlantic Stone & Tile Care came in and made them look NEW again! They were on time, clean, courteous and did a great job. NEXT, they cleaned my granite counter tops to a shine I didn't even know existed. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Best in town!"

FAQs for stone slab countertops installation (granite, marble, quartz, etc) projects in Folly Beach, SC

Soapstone countertops are durable, environmentally friendly, easy to maintain, non-porous, heat-resistant, and naturally antibacterial. They resist stains and cracks, making them a practical and long-lasting choice. However, soapstone has limited color options and can have visible seams in larger installations. It may also scratch or chip if not handled carefully and tends to have a higher initial cost than other materials. Overall, if you're looking for a functional and aesthetically pleasing countertop, soapstone is a solid choice despite these minor drawbacks.

Soapstone countertops typically come in light to dark gray, often with blue or green undertones. One of the unique features of soapstone is that it deepens in color over time, developing a rich patina that adds to its charm. Each slab is unique, with natural streaks and veining that become more pronounced as the countertop ages, giving your kitchen or bathroom a dynamic and evolving look.

With proper care, soapstone countertops can last 50 years or more. Regular cleaning with mild detergents and occasional applications of mineral oil to enhance the natural patina will keep your countertops looking beautiful. Thanks to its durable nature, soapstone stands up well for daily use, making it a wise long-term investment for your home.

Sealing isn't necessary for soapstone countertops. Soapstone is naturally non-porous and antibacterial, resists stains, and doesn't harbor bacteria. While you don't need to seal it, applying mineral oil occasionally can enhance its natural beauty and help develop a rich patina over time. This simple maintenance keeps your countertop looking its best for years to come.
