"For specific projects there was no choice for emergency or burst pipes and that's what we had. We had a pipe burst in our garage, and it was flooding the garage. We had to call the non emergency dispatch to see if we could get help turning off the main water valve; it was frozen. The dispatch told us that there were approximately 10,000 people without water due to bursting pipes. We had contacted them because we couldn't get the main shut-off valve off due to it being frozen, and someone from the city water came to our rescue as well. Considering our garage was flooding. We had called 6 plumbers and got all the same answer; it would be Monday or Tuesday before they could get to us. Totally understood their responses. Fortunately for us, Ryan, from Ryan Parker Plumbing LLC, contacted us later that evening, and he was able to fit us in after all. He came out in that freezing rain and showed my husband that we could have water in the house and just turn off the area that was damaged. Then, he proceeded to fix the pipe (it was in our garage in the wall). Didn't take him long, thank goodness! He came back the next day to make sure it was all fixed and working properly. "Question answered. After some energetic snaking produced only mud and gravel, we declared it either to be a "collapsed pipe" or a catch basin. Technician snaked a neighboring pipe to see if there was a back door into the suspected catch basin, but no luck. Next step: find someone to dig up the old basin then install a sump pump w. basin."

"Gene phoned prior to arrival just as promised. He also arrived within the window of time I was given. It took him about 30 minutes to complete the repair. He also did preventative maintenance on the hot water side as well since both valves are the same age. He even let me know where my water shutoff is located since living in a condo makes it a little confusing. Additionally the price came in just as I was prepared for with the initial quote. "Our CPVC house piping had a lot of water hammer. After turning on the washing machine, I walked out for a moment, and then when I came back in water was dripping from the ceiling exhaust fan onto the washing machine. We have a two story house and they ran the hot water plumbing from the water heater in the garage through the laundry room ceiling. I removed the exhaust fan and could see water dripping from a tee way back beyond reach. The water hammer from the washer likely caused the fitting to start leaking. I turned the house water supply off and sent a message to Simpson plumbing through Angie's list. A lady from Simpson plumbing contacted me right away the next morning. She was courteous, but was having a hard time understanding what the problem was. Maybe I was giving too much information or something, but when the plumbers arrived later that afternoon they didn't understand what was going on. I ran through what happened again and showed them the wet spot on the ceiling. They had to cut an opening in the ceiling and we turned the water on and confirmed the leak. We moved my washing machine out of their way and they cut out the CPVC tee and replaced it with PEX. The piping was brittle so it took him a couple of attempts to get a straight cut which is why I called them to mess with it. After installing the PEX tee, we were leak free and at my request they provided a reference for the drywall repair. He also advised getting some water hammer arrestors installed on the supply lines to the washing machine to stop the water hammer, which I have since done."
