"The salesman missed the first appointment scheduled for 10:00 April 23 - received call from officie at 9:10 He had emergency.scheduled next appointment for April 28 at 10:00 and salesman showed  20 minutes late. He got stuck in traffic.
Salesman was very honest about the deal I had purchased the 6 landscaping lights for $649. I could take the deal but I would be calling again to add additional lights. His ideas were right on and what type of lights and where to put them. The job was scheduled for May 6 and it would take 2 days. They called to say they could come out earlier and they did and installed all of the lights in a day and a half. The lights look great and one of the lights went out just a few weeks ago and I called and they were out the next day. There is a 5 year warranty on the lights.

"Things went exceptionally well when Chad of King’s Electric came to install lights in my home. I appreciated the time he took to discuss different options, to explain what he was doing in understandable words, and the quality of his work. I would definitely choose him for all of my electrical needs!"

"Cousins landscaping was great to work with. We had an initial meeting with Josh to discuss ideas, plantings and materials. He came up with a great design that pulled all of our ideas together and stayed within our budget. The work was started on time , his crew arrived on time everyday and completed the project in about a week. They were professional in all aspects of the job. We love our new garden walls, plantings, sidewalk and porch. We would recommend and use them again."

"Oscar Padilla and his crew were nothing short of exceptional. I had over 1,600 EP Henry pavers installed and they also designed walk ways, fire pits and an outdoor bar. Oscar was very communicative throughout the process and my wife and I could not be happier with how everything turned out. The crew cleaned up and made sure they kept everything looking as good as possible during the process. From the outdoor lights, to the retaining walls, we would highly recommend Solid Brick Contracting to anyone and everyone!!"

FAQs for outdoor lighting plan and installation projects in Forest Hill, MD

Permit requirements for outdoor lighting vary depending on your location and project scope. Simple fixture replacements don't require permits, but projects involving new electrical circuits, extensive trenching, or significant system expansions often do. Local building departments establish these requirements, and many professional electricians handle permit applications as part of their service package.

The timeline for outdoor lighting installation varies based on project complexity. Basic systems might require only one to two days for complete installation, while extensive lighting networks with numerous fixtures and complex wiring needs could extend to a week or longer. Weather conditions, property accessibility, and soil characteristics can all influence how quickly professionals can complete your installation.

Outdoor lighting offers both practical and aesthetic benefits that many homeowners find valuable. Beyond enhancing nighttime visibility and security, well-designed lighting can highlight architectural features and extend outdoor living hours. While installation represents a significant investment, quality lighting may potentially increase property appeal and could contribute to overall home value.

Some outdoor lighting projects are suitable for homeowner installation, particularly simple solar fixtures or low-voltage systems that plug into existing outlets. However, projects requiring new electrical connections, permanent wiring, or integration with home electrical systems demand professional expertise. Electrical work carries inherent safety risks, and improper installation could create fire hazards or code violations.

The operating cost for outdoor lighting depends primarily on your fixture types, bulb selection, and usage patterns. Energy-efficient LED fixtures consume significantly less electricity than traditional incandescent or halogen alternatives. Controlling your lighting with timers, photocells, or motion sensors can further reduce energy usage by ensuring lights operate only when needed or beneficial.
