"They advice, and had all our questions answered on sensible and affordable options. Very knowledgeable, prompt, polite, efficient, and thorough team! We are happy with their waterproofing services in our basement (fast sump pump and a grate trench with a discharge line that goes 15 feet to the outside bubbler) as well as crawl space shield installed under our addition. It works well, and Pioneer checked a month later and a year after for inspection and cleaning. A+ work and workers."

"I have nothing but good things to say about Curt Guenther and Real Dry. This was a complicated project that was well-executed for a reasonable fee. I got a few quotes on the project before proceeding and had all kinds of conflicting advice and a lot of concern from the competing contractors on the difficulty and complexity of the work. Bear in mind that our crawlspace has four separate interior areas and while the height is reasonable at 3-4 feet, to get between the areas you need to crawl on hands and knees. Getting around, excavating, clearing debris is difficult. The floor is sand and rock, which is hard to level. None of the other contractors were willing do everything, so I would have had to break the job into multiple tasks, coordinating between multiple contractors, at greater expense. Curt signed on for the entire project. The work was all completed within a week by a large, competent, hard-working crew. They left no mess on the property. The interior of the crawlspace is now clean and, as promised, dry. All the foundation work is solid and professional. No concerns there at all. I installed a remote-sensing hygrometer to keep track of the humidifier. The hygrometer now reads consistently between 50 and 55% humidity, which is perfect for preserving the integrity of the wood structure. I can feel the dryness of the crawl space whenever I go in it. This was one of those big, scary projects that’s been on my to-do list for a long time and it's a tremendous relief to have it done, and done so well. As an added and unexpected benefit, our house doesn’t have mice anymore. They used to get in through the crawl space and now they can’t. I highly recommend Curt and his team for any project involving basements, crawl spaces, or foundations."

"My experience with Real Dry was exceptional throughout the whole process. Last year, we were getting water in our basement whenever there was a heavy rain. Steve came and assessed the situation, and recommended digging wells around our basement windows and door and filling them with gravel for better drainage straight down (rather than toward the house/windows). We initially talked about also digging a well in the front of the house, where water would pool due to our lack of gutters and then come in through the foundation. So the initial estimate included all of that. When Steve arrived on the actual day with his crew, I told him that I didn't think we needed to have a well in the front of the house because I was planning on getting gutters and that should take care of that. He adjusted the estimate accordingly with absolutely no hassle. The work itself was done quickly and professionally and the basement has been bone dry ever since, despite some incredibly heavy rain. I HIGHLY recommend this company for basement waterproofing projects."

"Wallace was fantastic! He performed a complimentary test of the walls and floors for moisture, and examined for evidence of mold. Based on his examination, he recommended several do-it-yourself measures to prevent the build-up of moisture and keep things mold-free. It was a great relief to get an honest, professional assessment that didn't try to sell drastic measures which (hopefully!) will not be needed."

"I had increasing amounts of water coming through my fieldstone foundation into my basement so I called the CrackTeam based on Angie's List feedback and relevance.
John is very professional and very easy to talk to. I explained what was going on and he clearly explained what he proposed to do and how much it would cost.
He then asked me if I had checked my gutters and downspouts.
I said that I had checked and they seemed fine. We scheduled an appointment for him to come out, chip away around the interior crack and seal it with cement.
A week later, thinking about what John had said, I went outside to doublecheck the downspout *during* a rainstorm (not a light rain), I found a vertical seam had split a couple feet of the ground. John had said on the phone that the flexible plastic downspout extensions can make an unbelievable difference so I went to home depot, bought 2, put them on and waited. The next day we had more heavy rain - not a drop in the basement. A week later we had more rain - no water.
So I called John back and told him -mentioning this is not a great time for our family to be spending money. He was very gracious about it - he agreed that we should cancel the work appointment and said when I was ready to have the work done, he'd be happy to do it.
While I can't vouch for the actual quality of work, I can say John seems to be the kind of guy you want to deal with. And while all our fellowAll in all,"

"We had carpet in our family room and office, and were in desperate need of a change. KBA has done numerous projects in my house, each time with exquisite results. Therefore, i got in touch with Bruce and he came out on time and took the measurements and sent me a quote within a day. He took time to go to Home Depot with me, where we figured out what look would go best with the house and my budget. Bruce was honest with me about the timeline of the project, and if there was ever an issue he always connected with me to see what would be the best way to solve the issue. I have used KBA for about 4 years for various projects around my house, and will definitely be using them for many more years to come!"

FAQs for foundation, basement or crawlspace waterproofing / encapsulation projects in Forestdale, MA

The most affordable way to waterproof your basement is with interior methods like waterproof paint, costing between $1 and $8 per square foot, or silicate concrete sealers priced at $4 to $6 per square foot. However, these solutions are only suitable for certain issues. If your basement moisture is due to more serious problems like a cracked foundation, you'll need more extensive (and costly) repairs.

Absolutely! Waterproofing your basement is a smart investment that can increase your home's value. By keeping your basement dry and free of moisture problems, you protect your home's structural integrity and make it more appealing to potential buyers. Plus, taking proactive measures now can prevent costly water damage repairs down the line.

The time required to waterproof a basement depends on the selected method. Some approaches to interior waterproofing, like paint or sealant, can be completed within a day. Installing new drains or weeping tiles will need at least two to three days of labor. Any forms of exterior waterproofing that require you to excavate land will require an additional three days of work to prepare the ground.

Yes, basement waterproofing can significantly increase your home's value. A dry, leak-free basement is a strong selling point for potential buyers, enhancing your property's desirability and market price. Investing in professional waterproofing not only protects your home's structural integrity but also ensures a healthier living environment by preventing mold and mildew growth.

Waterproofing both the interior and exterior of your basement offers the best protection against moisture. Exterior waterproofing stops water from penetrating your foundation, while interior methods manage any moisture that does enter. If you must choose one, exterior waterproofing is generally more effective, as it prevents water from reaching your home's interior in the first place.
