"This pro provided useful information via a virtual (online) video consultation. Since this service does not send technicians to the home, they did not do the actual work. I am considering whether to order parts and try to complete the repair myself or under their virtual direction."

"We have ordered several replacement parts for various appliances (dishwasher, refrigerator, washer) and everything has always been satisfactory.  Website shows videos on how to install certain parts and also include a diagram of your appliance.  Fast shipping.  Very helpful! <br />"

"Todd arrived on time, was very easy to work with, my husband had just had hernia surgery two days before so he couldn't move anything. Todd got right to work and within a short while knew what our problem was, we needed a new motor control board. He wrote up a summarized report which we appreciated, it was thorough and gave us the information we needed to decide if we wanted to replace the part or buy a new machine. When we had a couple of questions, Brie, the lady who answered our calls, was super nice to work with and helped us figure out what we needed to do. We would definitely recommend Appliance Artisan to anyone looking for a company you feel safe coming into your home and being honest with you and working with you patiently if you have questions."

"Called many parts stores trying to find one that I could pick it up because I needed it right away and didn't want to pay $10.00-$15.00 for shipping one parts store told me to try repair clinic so I called and they had my part! So drove out picked up part this place was amazing they seemed to have everything! will be going back. So if you don't need a service tech to come out and you can do it yourself or know someone who can this place is fantastic!"

"Absolutely amazing. They were just wonderful. Like having your dad come out to your house. They are just wonderful people. Our refrigerator had a minor problem, they had the part, they took care of it in 45 minutes and it hardly cost a thing. It is not a big place. I think they just have 4 or 5 fellows out into the field all the time but they carry most of the parts with them and they just know their stuff. They took off their shoes when they came in through the door, they were very polite, sat me down, asked me if I want to be involved in what they were doing at that time so that they could educate me. Even if I did not want to do that and that was fine as well. But I did want to know what the problem was and he knew what he needed to do and it took him a minute and a half. A leaking freezer was not good. They followed up the next day and I was happy with that. They have very good customer service. I think they have been around for 30 years, it is a family owned business and it is just great. I cannot say enough about them because you never know what you are going to get. They were truly amazing. I really feel that they went above and beyond. Every step of the way they wanted to make sure that I understood what was happening, wanted to make sure that I was comfortable, wanted make sure that I saw the parts, he made sure that I had the old parts and if my husband or someone else wanted to have a peek at it and he marked exactly what was wrong on the part. He was great."

"I listened on the phone before I disconnected and heard Jamie laugh loudly as she hung the phone up. That was rude. Repair tech was unprofessional and unconventional in procedure. Promises were not kept. Misquoted fee. Over charged for labor. I Will not do business again and will tell all that will listen; about my experience with Bob's Appliance Service. I called Bob's Appliance Service on Thursday about a water leak under my refrigerator in a rental. I was unable to get to and inspect myself. The tenants had looked and cleaned water from under it and could not figure out if any more water was coming out. So, I called the closest repair place I found on the web. Bob must pay to be on the top of the list cause he showed up there. (Too bad it does not go by performance/price) I talked to a Shey, he said he was a repairman and stated he would be the one to go out to do the repair. Then he told me he could not get there till Monday afternoon. (Four days show up for a water leak that may or may not be contained) Shey offered no Emergent time schedule at all. (Me expecting to hear one with double the cost) I was pretty sure it was contained so agreed to the four day response. I asked what the diagnostic charge was and he said "Eighty Dollars". I thought that was a reasonable price as I was pretty sure it was a crease/crack in the plastic water line. Simple fix. I confirmed the appointment and told him to call me when he was on his way out to the house as I needed to inform the tenant. I also was going to see if the problem could be resolved by the tenant over the weekend. I asked Shey what the cancelation policy was; he told me as long as he has not arrived to the house, I could cancel with no charge. This was acceptable and I did not worry as he was to call me while on his way. I thanked him and hung up. I did get the Renter to shut the water off to the refrigerator over the weekend. Monday afternoon I get a call from a Triston asking for a $153.38 payment telling me that he could take my card number right then. I asked if he had been to the house or are still there and he said he had left and the fix was completed. I was put a back; I actually verbally stammered, this was a number of misspoken promises and a surprise at the cost of splicing a 5/16" plastic tube of $153.38. Also, I agreed to a diagnostic and gave no authorization for repair. (Expecting a call before arrival and before repair). I asked for an invoice and there was none. (Digital or any other sort) I told Triston to have the office call me to complete our transaction... I received a call from a Jamie on Tuesday afternoon. I asked to have an invoice Emailed to me. After some doing I received one while we were still on the phone. That is when I saw the diagnostic charge - $88.00, 5/16" connector part - $5.00, and labor charge - $60.00. Tax - $.38. I explained I was quoted an 80 diagnostic charge from Shey and gave no authorization to effect repairs. (The renter would have been "OK" with no water coming out of the refrigerator) there was silence on Jamie's end. I continued with explaining: All home repair facilities I have ever Managed and worked with include a deduction or inclusion of diagnostic charge into the labor. Or, if the repair is performed, the diagnostic charge included that labor if below a one hour time span. Silence on Jamie's end. Not to mention; I gave no authority to continue with any repair. I left the silence a float for an uncomfortable amount of time. Then, not being an arguing person, I told Jamie I brought these topics up for her review as I would most likely include them In a review of my experience and.. silence on Jamie's end. I asked if she was ready for my card number and she said "yes"... right away. I gave it to her, completed our transaction and wished her a good day and listened before she hung up the phone.."

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Fort Collins, CO

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
