Our project involved demo and renovations of two full bathrooms, replacement of all hardwood floors, installation of light fixtures, replacement of damaged walls and insulation, and painting of all walls, trim and ceilings. The work took about two months and was competitively priced for the quality of services rendered. We found Ruben to be an extremely honest, fair and excellent partner. We were particularly impressed by: 1. Ruben’s creativity in finding solutions, including turning our extra bathroom space into a linen closet, and creating a trash bin drawer with our existing kitchen cabinets; 2. Custom woodworking, including customization of floating vanities and drawers, custom wall shelving and custom closet shelving; 3. How clean Ruben and his crew maintained the worksite through the project (Ruben noted he wanted the place to be safe and clean in the event that clients were to visit at any time); 4. How Ruben managed relationships with our condo board and our neighbors during the work; and 5. Ruben’s commitment to ensure we were happy with the work. We would highly recommend going with Ruben and would eagerly contract with him again. Ruben was always patient and dedicated to working through any issues, which underscore his commitment to his customers. Some examples include: 1. The project estimation process (i.e. scoping of work and contracting) took longer than expected. While there was a lot of back and forth, Ruben and Nancy were always very patient and responsive during this time and throughout the duration of the project. 2. There were one or two items that we needed to point out to be corrected (e.g. paint splatter and a tile installation error). When we raised these issues, Ruben quickly address them, consistently noting he wanted us to be happy. 3. There were items that we were responsible for supplying (e.g. closet door and grout), which resulted in some back and forth because we needed more information to make an informed purchase (e.g. closet door needed to include casing, grout needed to be a single component sealing grout). Because we did not get specific instructions, it may have caused time delays – but Ruben was very graceful and flexible, sometimes working on weekends and late into the night to accommodate our project timeline. Based on our experiences here are two things that made our partnership productive: 1. Have daily discussions with Ruben, either onsite or over the phone. This was very efficient for us to be aligned with the work that was happening that day (e.g. to jointly make big and small decisions) and to troubleshoot expected and unexpected issues. 2. Ask these questions when securing the quote: (1) Will this project require permits? (2) What will be the order of the work, and when will materials be needed that the client is responsible for purchasing? All and all, we are so thankful to Ruben for treating our home like his own and for making the place beautiful. For their quality craftmanship, insightful guidance, unwavering dedication to their customers, and positive attitude, we highly recommend Ruben and the 2 Brothers team for all your home improvement needs. We feel that we have found the contractor we will want to work with over and over again, and we cannot wait to invite him to our housewarming party so he can meet all of our family and friends and be recognized for the great work he and his team have done!"

"When I first called Mr. Stannard, he promptly answered the call.  I explained what I needed done and he was able to meet me at the home the next day (which was convenient for me).  I originally told him I needed an evaluation and recommendation for a loose staircase railing, and needed at estimate if it had to be fixed or at a minimum a written report if it did not--I said I would be happy to pay him for that report.  The next day, he was waiting there at the house when I arrived about 10 minutes prior to our appointed time.  He was pleasant and ready to help with my situation.  After a quick look at the stair case/railing, he said this was normal for this type of staircase/railing.  I asked if he could write that up for me and that I would pay him for that.  He said no problem and there would be no charge for that.  He said to email my information to him and he would get that written up for me.  I did that the same day and he responded back with a pdf document on his letterhead explaining his evaluation of the staircase/railing. <br /> Mr. Stannard was very professional throughout the whole process, was very congenial, and so easy to work with.  I really appreciated the fact that he didn't charge me to come out, look at the issue and then provide a written report on his findings.  I would not hesitate to use his services in the future and would recommend him to others just on this basis.  Sometimes it's hard to get people to respond to your phone calls and emails, but not Mr. Stannard. <br />"

He also fixed the lock and the screen door on our sliding glass doors making them finally functional again and taught us how to grease the sliding door so it runs smoother. "Background - We had our traditional fireplace converted to gas. The company we hired to do the work made three 10 by 10 holes in our basement drywall in order to pull the gas line to the fireplace on the floor above. ============================================= King repaired the three holes, and the work was beautifully done! What impressed me most about Oscar, King's CEO, is that he was willing to come to our house to explain the work that needed to be done and provide an estimate. Three other companies provided quotes but over the phone or text and not in person. It is a good thing he did come out!! He discovered that one of the patches required special handling. 1 inch drywall screws for this patch could not be used because the 1 inchers would puncture duct work. In addition to the drywall work, Oscar provided some good suggestions about maintenance items we may want to consider in the future. We will definitely use King again!"
