"This pro provided useful information via a virtual (online) video consultation. Since this service does not send technicians to the home, they did not do the actual work. I am considering whether to order parts and try to complete the repair myself or under their virtual direction."

"The repair man was very friendly and professional. I had a shirt stuck under the agitator in my washing machine and could not get it out. This company advertises that your service call will be applied to the parts/labor required for the repair and they stated that they did apply my service call fee of $119 to the repair charge, but they charged me $250 for work that took about 10 minutes. I appreciated their service, but I am somewhat disappointed that they dangle a $119 service charge out there for something I know is a 10 minute fix and then when the repair guy gets to my house before he starts working he tells me that the charge to repair my washing machine is going to be $250. They sure did not tell me that over the phone when I called them and I told them exactly what was wrong so they could have told me that over the phone. It seems like all the appliance repair places use this tactic now, which isn't very fair to the consumer."

"Very well. The repairman checked the washer thoroughly, and determined that we didnt need to replace the motor at this time. We really appreciated his honesty and professionalism. Will definitely call them the next time we need any household appliance repairs."

"Was contacted immediately after I called to set up an appointment for the next day. He showed up on time, was courteous and knowledgeable. He took apart my dishwasher and was able to make a diagnosis based on what he found. Unfortunately, after 12 years, the motor was going and he was upfront in telling me that it would cost more for him to repair than to replace the appliance. He made sure it was at least usable and recommended a couple of replacement options. Even though my dishwasher wasn't repaired - it still ran but not well - I appreciated his honesty. I checked out his diagnosis online and found that he was correct in his assessment. We now have a new machine and I'm thrilled with it."

"ON CALL arrived on time.  Provided an estimate, and even after more parts were needed, charged the same amount for the repair. I felt comfortable with the service technician working on the house.  In the future, I would have no problem arranging for the technician to make repairs if only my wife were home. Thank you to On Call Maintenance."

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Fort Oglethorpe, GA

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
