"Removal of existing tile in our laundry room and replaced with new tile. They were a joy to work with. Came in and unhooked and moved washer and dryer to garage, removed very heavy 8ft door and removed old tile all in about 90 minutes. Next day installed new tile and grouted Did an excellent job with no mess and cleaned up everything. New tile looks great! Fast, friendly, reasonable and quality work Would recommend to anyone!"

"Like most of their competitors, Reliance charges a fee for dispatched estimates which would be deducted from any final invoicing of work. Michael was promptly dispatched to my home to assess a particularly challenging drain replacement: the original builder made no allowance for service access to the tub 30 years prior. Any repair would require demolition of the tub enclosure or ceiling below. Michael's assessment and quote recommended cut-in to the side of the tub, but it was unclear if this would have given him enough access for the repair. We were fearful that the initial effort would have quickly escalated into more work. We also were distrustful of a company that charges line item warranties for their own service (i.e. 6 months vs. 1 year vs. 2 years) and does it's scheduling and quoting from an electronic tablet with nothing in writing on the front end. We subsequently were able to make this repair on our own and avoided the expense - which likely would have ratcheted up to over $1200."

"Wojtek and his crew were timely and responsive. Wojtek takes a lot of pride in his work and will not be happy unless the work is completed according to his high standards. His crews are honest, friendly, and professional in their work. I have used Wojtek at Pro-install before and I would use him again. I have recommended him to many people- all of whom have been very happy."

"I had moldy caulk all around my bath tub and tracked shower doors. Paul arrived when MPT said they would and I explained my needs and concerns. Paul worked quickly and diligently, and unlike my feeble effort, applied a proper caulk with an anti-mold guarantee."

"We had to redo our front stairs because the wood was very degraded. We also were looking at replacing the front doors at the entrance of the porch. It was a small job, and some larger companies were not too interested doing it. Dave Lupfer showed interest in the job, and he recommended the use of timber tech Azec, a material more expensive than wood but that does not need to be painted every year or two in order to remain in good condition. The job took longer than usual in the Summer/Fall of 2020, thanks to the Covid-19 epidemic (during the same period we had to wait 3 months to get a new freezer delivered, so no blame here). Contrary to other companies that came for an estimate, Dave Lupfer right away said that the doors were made of really good wood and all they needed was being repainted and balanced. That saved us quite a bit of money. We had to wait for a while for the stairs because the factory making the timber tech Azec had been shut down for a while, due to Covid-19. The job was performed by Dave's crew early November, they replaced the rotten wood and railings with the Azec material, and we now have a great looking front entrance to our porch. The job looks really well done, with no misalignment or unbalanced parts. I would certainly recommend Lupfer Builders."

FAQs for shower installation and replacement projects in Fort-sheridan, IL

You should regrout tile every 10 to 15 years, provided it is well-maintained with regular cleaning and sealing. Over time, grout can deteriorate due to exposure to moisture, foot traffic, and the use of cleaning agents. If you start to see cracks, discoloration, crumbling grout, or loose tiles, it’s a sign that regrouting is needed sooner.

The most effective way to clean grout involves a combination of powerful cleaning agents and the right tools. Using a dedicated grout brush intensifies the cleaning process, ensuring a deep clean. Create a powerful homemade solution by mixing baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and dish soap to break down deeply embedded dirt. After cleaning, reseal the grout to lock in protection and maintain its appearance.

You can't regrout tile without removing the existing grout and expect good, long-lasting results. You must replace the old grout when it begins to crumble and fail. New grout cannot properly adhere to existing grout, meaning moisture will still reach the damaged layer and cause additional water damage, which will be more costly to deal with in the long run.

Visible indicators, such as cracks, stains, chipping, and mold growth, signal that your grout is compromised and no longer maintains its bonding strength. If you notice these issues, cleaning alone won't restore the grout's integrity. In such cases, consider complete or partial regrouting to preserve your surfaces and prevent further damage.
