"Ramirez construction is the best . Mr. Ramirez came on Sunday evening and explained the work and gave me an estimate on the spot. He promised the work done perfectly. He said I’ll knock it out on 2 days and not damage the lawn. I texted him and he was always responsive . Folks , not only did he do the best cement job I’ve ever seen, he did it in record time . The Ramirez crew lay down wood planks and didn’t even bend a blade of grass. My outside walk out patio is almost 1000 sq feet. My God, they did it in 5 hours … tear up tons of old co concrete patio , grade and lay new 6 inch and 4 inch reinforced concrete perfectly…. Everyone who has seen the job he did for me wants to hire him now ! Amazing and the best. Completely professional. They don’t make people like Mr. Ramirez any more…dedicated to the craft and the best !!!!"

Small jobs welcome

"The company did an Exceptional job from the demolition to reinstalling a section of my driveway that had cracked and separated. They arrived on time, were very courteous and completed the work in a timely manner. Dominique and his entire crew were very friendly and did an outstanding job repairing my driveway and cleaning up the area when they were finished. I would highly recommend Dominique and his company to anyone looking for a knowledgeable company to do any kind of concrete installation or repair work."

"Pat is great to work with, although a bit scattered at times. However, aside from that, he hired the BEST subcontractors - there was never a question that we were in good hands. Pat also made us a promise that he would be on the worksite, and from everything we saw and heard, he was! He was definitely our advocate on the worksite, and he wasn't bad at keeping us in the loop, either."

"Sean was wonderful and did an excellent job! He was very personable and showed us what he was doing every step of the way. It's amazing how much lint comes out of a dryer vent! The $79 fee is well worth it! It safe guards against fire and decreases the dry time! We highly recommend them!"

"They were very good, and were the most affordable. Tony was very knowledgeable, and did a very nice job sealing it because they also had to seal the concrete against my brick wall, and actually did it beveled so it'd look nice."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Franklin, MI

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
