"Built to Last Construction was recommended to me by a friend who had them remodel her kitchen. First I hired them to paint a steep stairway to the upstairs, along with the upstairs landing (built their own scaffolding) and install railings. Their work was very professional and I can't belief how good it looks! Next I had them completely remodeled the bathroom in coordination with a plumber and electrician. Tom and his wife Ann went shopping with me for bathroom fixtures but because the bathroom is so small nothing seemed like it was going to work out. Tom actually ended up building a linen cabinet, sink base and medicine cabinet with a lighted mirror to fit. The quality of the wood and workmanship is outstanding! I am also hiring them for other projects. They are always very thorough and kept me informed on all aspects of the projects. I recommended them to a friend who has had a hard time finding someone to update her deck. She will not be disappointed."

"Douglas understood the need to handle the repair quickly, and while waiting for the permit and materials provided a temporary construction barrier to ensure our and the neighbors dogs were contained on the proper sides of the fence. Since it was the holiday weekend, we expected the permit to take longer and scheduled the repair for later in the weeks, but when he was able to get the permit immediately, we were able to reschedule sooner. He did a great job at a reasonable price and was extremely considerate about our time, property and animals. While working and cleaning up he was very careful about clearing any nails or wood shards that might present a danger for our dogs. The new section of the fence looks great, and he provided guidance as to when it would be ready to paint or stain and why. I can't say enough about his willingness to go the extra mile to get our repair done quickly despite having his crews already working on other jobs."

"Our home had a simple upper level walk-out deck that essentially had room for a grill and small two person table. We were looking to expand the size of the upper level and also put a lower level in and attach the two with a winding staircase. Since I am no fan of maintaining a deck, we decided to go with Trex. Via a friend's referral, I called HDF and spoke with owner Dale. After going over what I was looking for he came by to review everything and asked to give him a day or two to jot some ideas down of other options I could consider for such a big project. When we spoke again, since our back yard faced woods and was going to be used for entertaining he suggested topping the rails with solar powered light posts. Since the upper level covered a portion of the lower deck he suggested he put in a ceiling type contraption that would trap the water and drain it out the side. The work crew was at the house every single day, including the weekend until the job was done. Seeing it go from nothing (once the old deck was removed) to what you see in the picture was pretty amazing. From our neighbors to friends and relatives do nothing but rave about the deck. It is an amazing place to entertain or just kick back with the wife and relax."
