I had a gas leak last week in the heart of the coldest weather in ten years: PSE&G just shut off the gas and left; and Alex was the only plumber who responded, to my urgent calls for help as the house cooled down. He was reassuring, came that day to take a look, arrived punctually with a helper the next day, and did a 3-hour repair (it involved work outside and in a crawl space) quickly, efficiently, and professionally. He cleaned up thoroughly, and left me with heat back on and hot water restored. PSE&G came the next day to remove the red tag and approve his work. All this for a third of the price the big companies wanted to charge me! "Fantastic!!! My first call (on a Saturday) was returned in ~30 minutes. Since it wasn’t an emergency I was asked if the office could call me back on Monday to set an appointment - which was fine. Kristen called first thing Monday morning and worked with me to set a convenient time. I explained that the repairs were needed at my mother’s home (in a resort community) and that my mother’s aide would be present but I could not meet with the technician and would need to coordinate payment remotely. None of this was a problem and, in fact, they even offered to purchase the replacement faucet she needed for me since I couldn’t be there to arrange for it prior to the appointment. The estimate was given before the work began and the bill was for the same amount despite the technician having to make a couple of extra supply runs during the repair. I paid promptly by phone and received a receipt within the same day. Overall, a big sigh of relief to know I found a reputable company that was responsive, fair and understanding of my situation. They originally came to help with the gas pipe for my dryer, but asked if I had anything else plumbing related that I had concerns about. I showed them my issue with the expansion tank for my water heater and saw that it was installed incorrectly. I asked them if they could address that issue as well and they said no problem. At 6:30pm Arctic Air Conditioning contacted me, had me take photos of my broken hot water heater. 15 minutes later, Katie from Arctic called me back with a more than fair price and worked her magic to get me an install for Sunday 2/27/22 at 2pm. Alex from Arctic arrived Sunday around 2pm and started the project. Elijah from Arctic arrived 45 minutes later and by 6pm ( 24 hours after my initial call) we had a new hot water heater up and running.
