"Their roofing crew stole my deer skull from the front of my house and it magically reappeared next to their van on the street after threatening to call the police. While stripping off the old roofing, they let the debris build up on my front bushes causing unrepairable damage. Unless you can speak Spanish you won't be able to communicate with their laborors and there is no boss working with them on site to help bridge the language barrier. They left scraps from their lunch around my front yard, avacado skins and shrimp tails and also cigarette butts, one of them smoked the whole time. The trim and gutters crews were fine but the cleanup after they were all done could have been better they left a decent amount of roofing nails and gutter screws even in plain sight in my driveway. Also had a couple of scheduling issues with material availability the attic insulation installers causing the project to be completed more than a week late. "

"During a recent heavy rainstorm, our porch roof started leaking enthusiastically. I found Anthony Mitchell (Tar Star Roofing) through Angi and I’m so glad I did. He was able to come by that very day and inspect the roof. He was very upfront about cost which I appreciated. We were expected another round of rain at the beginning of the following week, so he rearranged things to be able to fit me in just 2 days later. He completed the work within one day. Throughout the process he gave me updates on what he was doing, and explained everything clearly. While inspecting the property Anthony noticed that the railing on our side deck was coming loose, causing a hazard to the cars parked under it. He was great in the beginning, showing up early and staying through the day to work, then he started to arrive later and later, if at all. He'd leave to get material or tools that he neglected to bring and wouldn't return for days. I liked Gavin I had trusted him; he's a nice man. I was constantly asking him to pick up after himself as he'd leave his Dunkin coffee cups thrown around the property, It was frustrating picking up after him. We had paid him to install new gutters. He never completed the job. When my husband contacted him about finishing the job, he asked for more money. My husband asked him for an invoice first; Gavin ghosted us. Truly disappointed. But your own materials and pay him AFTER he completes job. "
