"Damen and his crew at Infinity Construction built our alumawood patio cover. His quote was competitive, him and his crew were timely, the job was completed when he said it would be and it turned out amazing. There was never a lack of communication and Damen answered any and all of my questions throughout the project. I would absolutely recommend them for your home building needs!"

"I was a little nervous about ordering windows on the internet using measurements I'd taken myself, but I loved the design on the website so, initially I only ordered 2 windows to check the quality, my ability to measure accurately and the company's ability to build to my measurements. Jeff, the salesman I dealt with was attentive without being overwhelming and the first order was delivered in about 4 weeks. The windows were exactly what I was looking for and fitting them was a breeze. I followed up with another order for the remaining 13 windows in my porch and again, they arrived quickly, were of great quality, exactly to size and easy to fit. Looking forward to see how they last their first winter."

"The owner of the company Bill Crane and his brother are friendly and personable guys.  Had no issues with the estimate or contract process.  Work commenced on agreed date.  Work took a couple days to complete.  Crew was prompt and easy to work with.  <br /> All old roofing material that was torn off the roof was hand carried and dumped into a truck with very little that needed to picked up off the ground.  <br /> Had a small problem with the minor roof repairs.  Showed them where a small section of barge rafter along the eave needed to be replaced.  They failed to fix the problem until I brought to it to their attention, plus they did not have the wood for the repair.  Fortunately, I had an old 2x4 I gave them that worked, but was not ideal for the repair.  <br /> As is standard practice, they installed metal drip edge along the barge rafters.  The drip edge was brown, while the rafter is painted white.  The drip edge should have been white to match the rafter color.  They said the color matched the shingle color.  I let it go, but now I wish I would have had them use the right color. <br /> The roofing materials (felt underlayment and shingles) they used were of good quality.  They laid down the new felt and installed new flashing on one day and made sure the roof was dryed-in (waterproof felt would prevent leaks should it rain overnight).  The shingles were laid the following day.  This process all went well, but I discovered a problem several months later when cleaning leaves off the roof.  Two of the vent flashings were not sealed around the vent pipes. I sealed them myself because rain was coming. <br /> They used a another contractor to install the new seamless gutters.  Very impressed with the quality of the gutters and work done. <br /> Had major problems the attic insulation.  I checked the attic after the insulation was blown in.  The fiberglass insulation was not applied evenly with many high and low spots, and there were areas with virtually no insulation. Had to have them come back to fix the problems, but I'm still not happy with the final results.  Chico Roofing installs attic insulation as a "convenience" to customers who must meet new energy/building code requirements.  An Insulation Contractor would have done a much better job. <br /> Am very pleased with the gutter guards (Gutter Dome brand) installed.  Pricey, but they work great. <br /> Finally, this was really disconcerting.  A week or so after the job was done I received a notice from the roofing materials company where Chico Roofing had purchased the shingles.  The notice said I was liable should Chico Roofing fail to pay for the materials  I called the company, and indeed the materials were paid for.  This may standard practice in the contracting business, but how was I to know this.  The impression I got was that Chico Roofing was concerned I would not pay my bill.  I should have been informed by Chico Roofing to expect to receive the notice.  <br /> <br />"

"Hughes Construction did an AMAZING job. Out of ALL the local contractors I contacted they were the only ones who were honest, competent, courteous and followed through. They knew exactly how to fix it and now I dont have to worry about mold or water damage when the rain arrives. And when they were done, they washed all the windows too! The other contractors left me high and dry. Their prices are fair and they are trustworthy. I plan to hire them again when it's time to do the whole house remodel. Thank you Hughes Construction!"

"Shane seemed to be very busy and was slow to respond to my calls <br /> . <br /> When finally able to come to the house to prepare an estimate, there was no indication by his truck or attire that he was a professional, (no business license, business name displayed). <br /> When the estimate arrived it was for the cheapest job possible (which may have been my fault for mentioning that I wanted to sell the house). <br /> Even though he knew that there had been a major leak into the house and shop, the estimate was for applying a second layer of shingles over the top of the bad ones, with provision for other repairs as indicated.......... I obviously have damaged plywood. <br /> To further save money it was suggested that I obtain the permit. <br /> This all may be good for someone desperate to save money, but it is not what I had in mind. <br /> A little better communication on both our parts, may have produced a different result. <br />"

"We just completed installing a motorized retractable awning from [*** Link removed ***] and are super pleased with the quality of the build, appearance and customer support.? This Italian-designed, engineered and manufactured awning is assembled and shipped from RetractableAwnings.com Florida plant, so if you need assistance with the install, you should contact a local handyman, carpenter or contractor.? Ours is a Palermo Plus, 16 ft. wide, with an 11 ft.-10 in. projection.? The Internet salesperson, Eric Scop, V.P., really worked with us to understand all the options and get fabric swatches.? We ultimately selected a combination Rain/Sun sensor and Vibration sensor to automatically retract the awning in case of heavy rain or excessive wind.? I spoke with Rocky, their installation expert, for advice on preparing the ledger board to attach the awning to our vinyl sided home, right below the soffit.? His advice was instrumental in making the install go so well.? Further, the awning arrived already programmed to the Soliris transmitter and the motor limit switches were also set.? It shipped in a fiberboard box (this one was about 17 ft long and 1 ft x 1 ft square, weighing over 200 lbs.), which was extremely tough.? The truck driver ignored the box orientation stickers and used a hand truck to move it from the center, rather than two hand trucks, one at each end, per the clear placarding on the box.? Despite this, it arrived in great shape, other than a couple minor paint scratches, which we will fix with touchup paint they are sending at no charge.? While the enclosed wall brackets were different from those described in the installation manual (an improved design), installing them was no problem. An extra bracket was included, which we also installed as this will be a large ?sail? on the side of the house and we want it to stay there. We extend our sincere thanks to the team at RetractableAwnings.com, and for those review sites that accept photographs, we include the following photo."

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in French-gulch, CA

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
