"Keep in mind that the initial contact is initiated by a Home Advisor portal of some sort. This causes the company that contacts you to not know the phone contact number. This has caused delays on followup contacts if they do not obtain your contact information on the initial phone call. This has happened more than once with different contractors. Now to the company that installed my countertops. They were prompt to provide a quote after obtaining my contact info. They gave us what we wanted in a timely manner. The price was agreeable to me. The reason why I did not rate them higher is that the installers informed me that it is standard practice to install the countertops and then do the cutouts for the sink and cooktop. We installed quartz countertops and this resulted in enormous amounts of dust in my house. Needless to say, this did not sit well with my wife at all. We spend the next day after the installation cleaning the kitchen and dining room including all cooking equipment, curtains, cabinets, walls, floors, etc. I would have preferred that they fit the counters and remove them outside to make the cuts. This method of installation was not made known to me at the initial home contact. I would much have preferred an option of cutting the counters outside even if it would have cost more. We love our new counters."

"I contracted them through a company called Lowes.  They came when they said they were going to come and measured precisely with no mistakes.  Installation was a breeze and they were very cordial when I contacted them.  If I had any questions I was able to ask them without any difficulty.  It was a good experience with them all the way around."

FAQs for stone slab countertops installation (granite, marble, quartz, etc) projects in French Settlement, LA

Soapstone countertops are durable, environmentally friendly, easy to maintain, non-porous, heat-resistant, and naturally antibacterial. They resist stains and cracks, making them a practical and long-lasting choice. However, soapstone has limited color options and can have visible seams in larger installations. It may also scratch or chip if not handled carefully and tends to have a higher initial cost than other materials. Overall, if you're looking for a functional and aesthetically pleasing countertop, soapstone is a solid choice despite these minor drawbacks.

Soapstone countertops typically come in light to dark gray, often with blue or green undertones. One of the unique features of soapstone is that it deepens in color over time, developing a rich patina that adds to its charm. Each slab is unique, with natural streaks and veining that become more pronounced as the countertop ages, giving your kitchen or bathroom a dynamic and evolving look.

With proper care, soapstone countertops can last 50 years or more. Regular cleaning with mild detergents and occasional applications of mineral oil to enhance the natural patina will keep your countertops looking beautiful. Thanks to its durable nature, soapstone stands up well for daily use, making it a wise long-term investment for your home.

Sealing isn't necessary for soapstone countertops. Soapstone is naturally non-porous and antibacterial, resists stains, and doesn't harbor bacteria. While you don't need to seal it, applying mineral oil occasionally can enhance its natural beauty and help develop a rich patina over time. This simple maintenance keeps your countertop looking its best for years to come.
