"We used quality 1st on two occasions in the past year to address water in the basement of our brownstone. They first addressed the problem from the crawlspace - installed a sump pump, water guard trench, and cleanspace wall system (they also added support to the ceiling, which is the floor of a kitchen above). Their approach was sound, the cost was fair, and we were very happy with their service and the work itself. They then returned to address water coming in from the main basement area - we worked together on a reasonable approach that included adding a 2nd sump pump, a water guard trench and cleanspace wall system only where needed. This required a lot of coordination and communication with our plumber as well - all went smoothly, work was performed and cleaned up professionally. So far, so good! I am in construction myself and I reviewed their approach with other professionals including an engineer, and I have a lot of confidence in their products, their pricing, and their work."

"This was a great breath of fresh air! Truly wonderful. Dan was incredible. He checked everything thoroughly, every crack was inspected and every concern was addressed. He was professional, friendly and knew what he was doing. He didn't try to sell us anything that we didn't need. He gave us a list of items we could do to make the space more waterproof, like caulking around the bottom of our double doors. He also suggested that we keep an eye on the cracks and take photos to document if the cracks spread. He was happy to hear that we were very happy with his inspection. This was the best free estimate we've ever received. He didn't try to sell us anything. He mentioned that they had a dehumidifier that is also an air purifier and would likely help with my allergies. So, if the other dehumidifier ever breaks, I know where I'm headed to buy a new one! Dan is part of a company that is extremely professional. They sent out a letter prior to our appointment to introduce Dan to us. It had his photo, a bio and even listed his family member's names. I felt like I knew him even before he showed up. This is a great way to do business. They even sent a book on basements that went into great detail about what could go wrong and how they can fix it. I enjoyed reading the book. "In January of this year, my wife and I decided we needed to transform our finished basement to an inhabitable living area. That would require adding a bathroom and an egress window for â emergency escapeâ . We hired a contractor for the bathroom and began the research on egress windows. As we were anxious to move ahead ASAP, I began contacting companies that installed egress windows. We had a couple of reps come out, look at our basement, discuss the process and quote prices. Estimates ranged from $8000 to $12000. Most had 2 things in common. 1} They could not schedule the job until somewhere in May or June as â windowsâ wouldnâ t be available until then. 2) Any â finishingâ work (necessary sheet rock and trim) would be extra as they did not do that. In March, I happened upon a copy of a regional advertising magazine (Clipper) which came in our mail. In it was an advertisement for â Basement Gurusâ . Since we still hadnâ t made a commitment for the work, I gave them a call. After discussing the job with them, I came to conclusion to go with â Basement Gurusâ . This would move job completion date up significantly over what I had been told by at least three other companies. 3) The price. 4) Excavation would be done manually eliminating the possibility of damage to my neighborâ s lawn. 5) Sheetrock and finishing included. Our egress window project (install/follow up sheetrock/trim) was completed on time. Three workers came to our home for the install. They completed the window in three days. Very efficient, professional. Our township inspector came out a few days later and said â all looked goodâ . Also, John the sheetrock/trim person told me he had done a number of egress finishes. He said this one, as opposed to some heâ d seen, looked really good. The sheetrock and trim was completed in one day. An egress window is a big job. They make alterations to your homeâ s foundation! "I needed stucco repair work on an old chimney (and other spots). Grady was meticulous and thoughtful on what approaches and materials would work. Throughout the project they allocated sufficient time for each treatment to cure and inspected the work before proceeding to the next step. Grady started the project with no money down and only required ongoing payments for materials until the project was well underway. The final payment was due only after they did a final inspection. Total project cost was also below other bids."

"We had some issues with an old addition to house shifting. We found that the walls holding it had some damage and seemed to be crumbling.
 I had two firms come out to talk with me before Foundations Experts. One would not even look under the addition, said he had to come back. The other could not fit into the crawlspace and never came back. 
  Nicks guys were great. Went in took pictures asked questions and already knew the grounds from satellite photos. 
 They sent me a detailed report on what the issues were with all the photos. 
  During this time period they had been a lot of rain. My septic tank collapsed due to erosion and a broken pipe. Nick came out to take a look to make sure the house was safe since this is all connected to the addition. The septic tank was repaired. Nick gave me reports and advice on this in trying get insurance coverage even though the septic tank was repaired by another company.
 At this point the foundation work has been put on hold, because of the expense of the repairs to the septic tank. 
 Foundations Experts went way beyond what they had to do even though that got no work out of it at this time. 
 Nick said he will redo the proposals and take a look again when we are ready.

"We contacted Healthy Way on 9/3 regarding the groundwater moisture and Brian came to the house on 9/6 to inspect the problem and prepare a proposal. sThe quoted cost was over $13K, but Healthy Way has a standing policy of offering a 10% discount to Angie?s List members so the price was reduced to $12,105 upon producing our Angie?s List member number. The price also included a transferrable service warranty for ?the entire period of time in which the customer holds title to the property against water penetration (water management).? After about a week we contacted Brian to accept the proposal and he returned on 9/17 to deliver the contract and collect a deposit of $4,000. About two days later we were contacted by Chester, Operations VP, to schedule the work which began on 9/24 and concluded on 9/25. The crew arrived as scheduled between 9:00am and 10:00am and quickly got to work preparing the area, covering all our belongings in the basement with heavy duty plastic to protect them from construction dust. The crew also set up negative-air machines in the basement and on the first floor of the house to scrub the air. Before the work began, the head of the crew reviewed the specifics of the contract with me and told me what they planned to accomplish that day. Chester, the Operations VP, came to the house to check the progress of the work and to ask if I had any questions or concerns. The crew leader checked in again with me at the end of the first day to let me know that they were done and what time they would return the next day. On second day they returned at the promised time, concluded the work, and cleaned up all the construction debris and removed the plastic. Chester was present for the final walk-through of the basement and collected the balance of the work fee. From start to finish all the Healthy Way employees were courteous, prompt and professional and we were very satisfied with the whole experience.
