Much of the wood frame behind the box had experienced water damage requiring long screws to seek enough wood meat to pull the box back to the brick wall. A vertical slip sleeve pipe was installed to adjust for the horizontal piping in the ground settling. The owner agreed to add foam, calking to help seal the wall box to the house wall and add a sloped top cover and sides to add additional protection from future heavy rain. This was an original construction land settling issue that is not uncommon."

Over a month ago CHW sent a repair technician to fix both of my garage doors, the technician made an adjustment on one door and chanced the opener on the other. A week or so ago the second door failed to open. Yes, my door opener is old, but the Warrantee says, if it can’t be fixed it will be replaced. CHW paid the tech $100 and said the rest $200 is on me. Please tell me why I should stay with CHW if I have to pay 2/3rds of the cost to replace the door opener? On a separate issue: Granted I accepted CHW’s offer of a Lowe’s card to replace my dishwasher, because I was unaware of how much dishwashers sell for, it cost me an additional 300. Again, please give me a reason for staying with CHW"

"Service guy came as scheduled. Sent his "service" requirements to home base Home base calls back and lists, a very long list of what needs to be done and a very long list of what is not covered and what each item costs. The overall cost was outrageous and they weren't willing to give it to me in writing. Everything I had to pay for was overpriced, of course! They told me my other option would be to purchase my own water heater and they would reimburse me for what there water heater would cost, but no reimbursement for Labor, building permit, or any upgrades required by the local building department. The requirements of the building department were minimal. I went to Home Depot and had them do the installation and saved many hundreds of dollars. Lesson learned, have AHS do simpler repairs that don't require municipal building department approval. Have AHS pay for the equipment, and purchase installation from a trusted local installer."
