"We were very pleased with our overall experience with Floors For Living. We had been shopping around for carpet and laminate flooring and Joshua was informative and helpful. The examples of laminate installed in the store helped us to make a decision along with Joshua’s expertise. The installation went well and Andrew called to follow up and make sure we were happy. I have already referred friends and family to the store! Happy that we found them!"

"I called and spoke with Will to have someone come out and look at the garage foundation, I knew I had a problem since I could see the crack running the length of the garage and the brick pavers had become unlevel on the side of the garage. Will asked me the questions...do you see any cracks in the sheetrock? are the doors hard to open and close? My answers were no, but I still needed someone to come out. He informed me they could not fix my problem and would not come out. Sounds crazy but I had to go through many people and had to tell them yes, there were cracks in the sheetrock so they would come out. I have never had to beg someone for their services. Finally, the inspector came out and said I needed 16 piers to level the foundation. Hmmmmmmm. On to the actual repair...the team came out when scheduled and began the work. A total of seven men started the digging process. It was hard for me to watch as my azaleas were removed, the deck boards lifted, pavers pulled up and the driveway jackhammered, but I knew it had to be done. These guys worked extremely hard even through the rain. All 16 piers were installed, some as deep as 18 feet, all in one day. Everything was replaced exactly as it looked before they arrived and all the mud and dirt was cleaned up before they left. It looked like it did before they started. Great job. I do need to comment on the woman that came out on the job....I guess she was making sure the project was going well. Her attire was definitely not appropriate for the workplace, she should never dress like that around all those men and she brought her young daughter with her. It was not very professional at all. Richard Pacheco, the owner, needs to be aware of the issues I had trying to get them to come out...I can't imagine how much work has been lost trying to get someone to come out. And he needs to make sure the woman that came out to the job is properly dressed. Other than those two issues, the actual job was great."

"Previously on 8/10 I gave them a poor review. Frankly I did not want them to return. But honesty Mike did try and contact me several times to try and make things right. I agreed to let them return and address my concerns . This time not only did he fully cover the areas that were not fully coated but he also covered the garage at no extra cost. Additionally he used a sanitizer on my ac to alleviate any lingering orders. Finally he stopped several time to make sure I was satisfied with the job being done."

"Needed to encapsulate a crawl space on a new home. The owner was very knowledgeable about building science and prescribed a solution that was exactly what I needed. I cross referenced his proposal with several leading authorities online, and he was spot on. The operations staff were also excellent and did great work."

"We were so worried about the leveling process but with Leon Foundation we shouldn’t have been. The entire process from start to finish was handled with professional care and quality work! The crew that came to our home showed up with a smile and ready to work and work they did! We can’t say enough how pleased we are with the results we got. I’m sure now that having a lifetime transferable warranty will be honored just as well as the work they did. Thanks Guys!!!"

"I have lived in my house for almost 30 years.  Because of popular concerns about mold, some dark edges I noticed on the louvers of my registers and an Angie's Deal for $149, I made an appointment to get the duct work cleaned.  The guy was on time, explained the process, then went right to work with his vacuum-brush.  I had to move my furniture out of his way, though, to set up his ladder.  The total length of ducts in my house is less than 20 feet, so the sweeping/vacuuming part went pretty fast.  I have 10 registers that were washed, and they certainly look cleaner now.  When he started talking about mold is when I started feeling manipulated.  I didn't know, and I am still not sure what mold growing in my ducts looks like.  The guy showed me several spots he claimed was mold growing in the pink insulation, then told me how their mold killing chemical works.  He claimed he was giving me a "deal" by using 2 vials of poison instead of one vial for an additional $700.  Infusing the poison through my duct work certainly did not entail $700 of work.  He just sat by the cold-air return for 10 minutes letting the poison mist get sucked into the furnace, then blown through the ducts.  I have no idea what 1 or 2 vials of fungicide costs, but I am sure it is nowhere near $700.  If you are thinking about getting ducts cleaned, shop around and ask about the cost of their fungicide in case they find some mold.  The guy kept saying I should be grateful my "problem" doesn't require mold-remediation, which apparently is far more expensive.  Angie's List lead me to believe I was getting a bargain, but now I feel like it was a rip-off.  I can't be sure what I got for $950, but if I notice a problem in the next 6 months, Speed Dry will come back to my house for free.  I guess that might be a "guarantee."  The awful smell lasted for nearly 2 days. <br />"

"Phone several roofing companies. Only the owner of Sunbelt, which I believe is a small business responded. Came to our residence with a worker that day or the next. Got on the roof itself. Examined it. Directed the disassembly of the antennas and their removal from the roof. It was a very reasonable fee. EXCELLENT service and when I have to have a roofing company again I will phone Sunbelt 1st."

FAQs for foundation, basement or crawlspace waterproofing / encapsulation projects in Galena Park, TX

The most affordable way to waterproof your basement is with interior methods like waterproof paint, costing between $1 and $8 per square foot, or silicate concrete sealers priced at $4 to $6 per square foot. However, these solutions are only suitable for certain issues. If your basement moisture is due to more serious problems like a cracked foundation, you'll need more extensive (and costly) repairs.

Absolutely! Waterproofing your basement is a smart investment that can increase your home's value. By keeping your basement dry and free of moisture problems, you protect your home's structural integrity and make it more appealing to potential buyers. Plus, taking proactive measures now can prevent costly water damage repairs down the line.

The time required to waterproof a basement depends on the selected method. Some approaches to interior waterproofing, like paint or sealant, can be completed within a day. Installing new drains or weeping tiles will need at least two to three days of labor. Any forms of exterior waterproofing that require you to excavate land will require an additional three days of work to prepare the ground.

Yes, basement waterproofing can significantly increase your home's value. A dry, leak-free basement is a strong selling point for potential buyers, enhancing your property's desirability and market price. Investing in professional waterproofing not only protects your home's structural integrity but also ensures a healthier living environment by preventing mold and mildew growth.

Waterproofing both the interior and exterior of your basement offers the best protection against moisture. Exterior waterproofing stops water from penetrating your foundation, while interior methods manage any moisture that does enter. If you must choose one, exterior waterproofing is generally more effective, as it prevents water from reaching your home's interior in the first place.
