"February 18, 2019 Recommendation for Angie’s List Work Done by: Portland Tree Care, Boring, OR Work Done on: February 12, 2019 Scope of Work: Full pruning and thinning of two small Birch trees in front yard, two large Birch trees, one large Maple tree and one very large Sweetgum tree in back yard. Also apply a systemic insecticide soil drench to control Aphid in all of our Birch trees. Brian Mowld was quick to respond to my request for a quotation. He was able to email his quote to me the same day that he came to the house to look at the job. We had to be a little flexible with the planned schedule due to unexpected snow here. However, on the scheduled day for the project Brian and his two man crew, Jake and Dan, arrived on time and went right to work. They were very polite and professional and did a wonderful job for us including a very thorough clean-up. My wife and I are very pleased with the look and shape of our trees. It is also reassuring that our trees are now better prepared to withstand the strong East wind we get in our area. We have used Portland Tree Care in the past with very good results and this time was no exception. "I liked this company from the get go. The estimator was friendly, knowledgable and worked me into his schedule same day. Scheduling was estimated at 2 weeks out, but when I called, they had a window of time (perhaps a cancellation), so I was able to get on their schedule inside of a week. The actual job day went fantastic. Crew arrived on time and was in and out in 90 minutes, leaving a clean yard and little evidence that they were even there. A great experience and I would certainly call them as my first choice in the future."

"When I called for a bid David came the next morning to meet my fianc . He seemed very knowledgeable about trees and what needed to be done. We had two trees to remove from the front of our house. One of the trees was only about 5-7 feet from our house. They arrived early on the scheduled day. The crew knew exactly what they were doing. They were fast and left everything very clean. They even cleaned up the mess that the trees had already made before they arrived. The job was the same as the bid amount, no surprises. We will probably have them back in the Spring for another tree that needs to be removed."

"I have an old pear tree that badly needed pruning/trimming.  They cut off all the dead wood, took away the small trash, and made a nice pile of winter fire wood for me from the rest!   They even had extra time and trimmed an overgrown laurel.   |They had to shift the time back 30min, which is why they got a B, HOWEVER its worth saying this was a very rainy day and they still came and performed the work in the rain.   Very impressive! | |If I have to trim or cut down a tree, I'll be sure to use these guys again!"

"They did excellent work. We got several bids and this was the only company who said that they would balance the needs of the tree with the needs of the customer (some companies err too far on one side or the other). They want to keep the tree healthy (of course) but also want to try to meet your requests. Our back yard is vastly better this summer since we had this work done and we will continue to use them. The shape of the tree is fabulous and the canopy is much higher up than it was. The leaves look very healthy so we think the tree is happy, too. Clean-up was good. Only small issue was some scratching from branches on things they pulled them past but that is to be expected, to a certain extent."
