Sadly, the project manager got into a car accident on the phone with me and the installation crew cut the fiber optic internet cable to my house and then tried to hide it by tucking it into the siding. While technically possible in some situations, installing new shingles over existing ones is not recommended by roofing professionals. Your local climate significantly impacts both installation requirements and long-term performance. Performance-wise, three-tab shingles have lower wind resistance ratings compared to premium options, making them less suitable for hurricane-prone regions.
