"We are very satisfied with service and repair provided by Appliance MC. We contacted Alex thru Angi to repair a leaking dishwasher. He was very professional and responded within 10 minutes to setup an appointment for next day. He confirmed 30 min ahead of the appointment to say he was on his way. He diagnosed the problem and identified the parts that needed to be replaced and provided a quote and indicated it would take few days for the parts. He called 2 business days later and setup the repair date. Very quickly and competently disassembled the dishwasher and replaced the old parts and run short test for leak. Ran dishwasher load next and had not leak. We will call Alex in future for repair/service of our other appliance as required."

"Overall experience was positive. The diagnosis was good and only required a $15 part that was able to install myself. My frig is working great. While my total cost for the repair was $80 which included the $35 diagnostic fee, the lowest other price quote was over $400. I am very pleased with this new type of appliance repair. I will be recommending this my family and friends."

"As we all know having a failed system in your house is never a fun task but it needs to get done. I contacted Around the Clock because of the wonderful reviews and high ratings. So I want to be fair with my assessment of this service. <br /> The technician arrived about 20-30 after the 3 hour window I was given and I needed to give them a call just to check to see if they will be coming. No biggie. He was professional and looked at my old system and determined that all the pressure was lost in the refrigerant and he could not recharge the system because of possible contamination to the condenser. I suspected that this would require a complete replacement.  <br /> After a good discussion he indicated that I probably needed to speak with a person with more specifics on what are all the options that I have in replacing my system. <br /> He left and within 5 min I had an appointment with a more knowledgeable person who would inspect my house and let me know what options there are. <br /> So thank you Icor for this service even though it was not great news. <br /> So a few days later the other individual Michael arrived about 20 min late but he was kind enough to give me a call ahead of time to let me know he would be running a bit late. <br /> After looking at the old air handler and condenser he went to work on his sales pitch for a 3 ton AC system. From all that I have read, you should size your AC system appropriately to the space being cooled taking into account windows and insulation and the environment where the system will be installed. Michael did not inspect my house in any way he only looked at the old air handler size which was 25-30 years old. He did not look in each room or ask me about insulation or do any sort of inspection. He did not do any calculations related to the needs of the house. <br /> Then he started hitting me with round numbers about costs. Sad to say It was all sales and no consultation. After a bit I asked him for two quotes without ducting. <br />"

"Service Master was excellent in some ways; but also disappointed in other ways. My GE Profile of 13 years stopped cooling recently. I e-mailed Service Master and they were quite responsive and scheduled an appointment promptly. My girlfriend handled the visit initially. The service master technician stated that the problem was an inverter that was not working due to a leak from a water hose. He replaced the inverter (a $120 part on amazon) and charged us $865 for the work. The next day, we noticed that the refrigerator was still not working and that the temperature kept rising. Over the next week, the Service master technician came almost every day - sometimes spending as much as 2 to 4 hours trying to diagnose and fix the problem. They texted every day multiple times to help us track the the issue. The various solutions they offered were to clean out the fan and the compressor; then replacing the freon a first time and then a second time. In the end, it appears as though there was a freon leak. It may have been that there was a freon leak and the inverter was broken, it's tough to know from our end as the consumer; and maybe for the repair man. Anyways, in the end they tried to fix the refrigerator and made multiple attempts over many days, were punctual and responsive; but this may have been avoided if they were able to diagnose the problem correctly initially; however in all fairness it may have bene impossible for the repairman to know that there was a freon leak. i just wish they hadn't charged so much to start off."

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Gardena, CA

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
