Roto-Rooter plumbers in Austin provide full service plumbing maintenance and repairs and clogged drain cleaning, 24 hours a day. Roto-Rooter's Austin plumbers offer residential and commercial plumbing services that customers depend on for all of their local plumbing needs.

"Elderly Abuse …. Run I woke up to a leak in my front yard as I headed out of town. My wife called Roto Rooter as she left for work to come give us a quote. They said they only needed someone there to greet them when they arrived. So we had my 85 year old, legally blind, suffering from dementia mother, who lives next door, meet them outside so they could begin with their estimate. They never called us for a quote. Instead he replaced one section of pipe (which was only 4 ft. long), and a shut off valve (which he said was broken but was not) and charged a whopping $6,500. He walked next door and demanded payment from my blind mother. NO APPROVAL WAS GIVEN!!!! NO PHONE CALL WAS MADE!!! My mother, who isn’t mentally with us anymore, gave them her credit card and boom…… $6,500. We didn’t get a new water heater or a new sprinkler system. We got one 4 ft. section of pipe for $6,500 and a shiny new on/off valve which was not needed. That guy new what he was doing. He didn’t call us for a reason. He took one look at my blind old mom with dementia and charged whatever he wanted. He left us an arbitrary bill I could hardly read with little to no specifics. I have attached…. When I called the manager he did return half of the amount. It sounded like we were making progress. I still asked for an itemized receipt so I could see how 4 ft. of pipe and a valve would cost $3,250. If I stayed in town this repair would have cost me a total of $75 dollars in materials. He said he would get that itemized receipt and then has ghosted me ever since. I have reached out on numerous occasions. This company did not have permission to do $6,500 or $3,250 worth of work on my property. They were called for an estimate and took advantage of my elderly, blind, dementia plagued mother to run up a huge bill that no one can explain. They demanded that my mother, who isn’t the homeowner, pay $6,500. My wife waited by her phone all day for an estimate that never came. This is morally and ethically appalling at every level. Just for reference, we had our foundation lifted for $9,000 last year. They dug under the house in several areas and lifted it. This guy wanted about the same for replacing a 4 ft. section of pipe. How is this real????"

SALT has been Austin, TX #1 Electrician since 1984. We take on a wide range of electrical projects to include full installation for additions and remodels as well as wiring and panel upgrades and a variety of other jobs. We're committed to providing a personalized service for each individual project we take on & look forward to building strong, long-term relationships with our clients and guarantee your satisfaction.

"Their technicians are heavily compensated for sales. That is not to say that the products sold are inferior, just maybe unnecessary and always expensive. In our case a $6500 water filter. When the technician made the sale he referenced a free 12 month free payment plan through a finance company, ?Upgrade?. We had used a seemingly similar plan for our windows and it was simple and without any sales garbage. Not so Salt and ?Upgrade?. Immediately after signing up I received nearly20 sales emails from Upgrade. I quickly contacted SALT to cancel the payment plan saying I would pay in full when the product was installed. Which I did. I continued to receive ?Upgrade? sales emails and ones that implied that the payment plan was still in force. So I called a SALT manager, Alan Snow to share copies of the numerous ?Upgrade? emails and to get the problem resolved. He claimed to have done this, but I am still getting ?upgrade? emails even today."

Your trusted advisers for AC repair, furnace repair, plumbing and electric in Austin, Texas. Fox Service Company is a local heating and air conditioning, plumbing and electrical company that has been in existence since 1972. As a family oriented company, we employ local team members committed to providing the highest quality service. We service the greater Austin, TX, Metro area, including all of Georgetown, San Marcos and Round Rock, Texas.

"PAID $14,000 for an Lennox system ONLY 2 YEARS AGO. Fox installed and serviced it. Recently, system stopped working and a Fox tech charged us $320 to fix. It stopped working 3 days later, so they came out again. Then, they wanted $3244 to replace the coil. NEVER buy Lennox (look up the class action lawsuit RE coils). NEVER use Fox (I've been pushed up to a "supervisor" 4 times with no resolution, the last one has yet to call). Lennox system's have faulty coils (see Reddit). Fox says they NOW don't use Lennox. (Head scratch) You make the connection. So, all I asked for was a new coil installed (part covered under warranty, 7 yrs left) and a guarantee that if it failed again (meaning I'd pay this time and have seven TX summers to go), Fox would not charge me for labor ($3244...pretty steep price too)...no call back."

Here at Daniel's Plumbing and Air Conditioning, our team is fully equipped and ready to serve you, from small to large projects. We truly know what good customer service is, and we stand behind, not only our work, but also guarantee you will be satisfied with the service our experts provide. Now courtesy may not be the first thing you think of when it comes to plumbing. But for us, it's one of the most important tools we carry. Certainly, courteous behavior won't actually stop a pipe from leaking, or unclog a drain but then, plumbing is about much more than just pipes and drains. It's about making sure YOU fully understand the job that will be done. It's about treating all parts of the home, not just our work area, with the respect and consideration it deserve. Most importantly, plumbing is about making sure you feel you have hired the right plumber the moment we set foot in your home, after taking care to cover those feet of ours, of course.

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in Georgetown, TX

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
