"We recently purchased the Angie's list coupon for a Major Appliance Repair. We knew we needed a service call but weren't sure what we would be looking at in terms of a repair since our LG washer had completely died. Mr. Charles was extremely prompt and courteous in his communications and it did not take long to get an appointment. When he arrived, his manner and work were very professional. He diagnosed that we needed to replace the control board. We discussed the cost and new vs. refurbished parts. He left me with a quote and knowing that the price was a factor, he even did further research on finding the best price on the parts. In the end, we have decided to abandon the washer repair and get a new one, but I would definitely call Mr. Charles again for other problems."

"I hired Willie and company of All Things New to replace and upgrade my master shower, repair the drywall in my living room ceiling, and reframe a basement door and window that had rotted out. The results were impressive. Everything was completed on time and with attention to detail. What really stands out to me, is that Willie doesn't just follow a template and then sacrifice quality if something doesn't fit into that template, like you'll see with lesser contractors. My former shower had failed almost immediately after purchasing my home in Nov 2015 due to shoddy, unlicensed work. Willie carefully examined the situation and found a solution that left me with an incredible custom shower that I can trust. Thanks again Willie!"

"Within an hour of purchasing the advertised special, Henry from B A R called us to set up an appointment for service. He seemed knowledgeable and showed up promptly to our appointed time. After working on the unit for about an hour he determined that the unit had died and there was no hope reviving it - it was 14 years old after all. WIthin a few days Henry was back and installed our new unit. Around the time he installed our unit, our second unit died. We had him replace it as well. The work was done in a timely manner and we have been completely satisfied. We would definitely hire B A R Appliances again for our HVAC needs."

"We have hired Saffer on multiple occasions. Today I heard the sound of water cascading down my stairs, and called them as soon as I got the water turned off. They had a plumber over within an hour. Joe figured out what the problem was right away, stayed on and completed the work, and even advised what I should monitor for in the way of electrical and flooring issues we might experience due to the flood. I really appreciate that Saffer has always been able to schedule appointments quickly every time I have called them."

FAQs for appliance (major electric appliance) installation and replacement projects in Glen Arm, MD

A pro starts by setting the units in place and connecting them to the right plumbing lines, electrical circuits, and, for the dryer, a vent. If the hookups already exist, the job is quick. When they don’t, the installer must add plumbing, outlets, or a vent run, which takes more time and increases the price, especially when the laundry area is located far from existing utilities.

You’ll need the right pros for a tight stacked setup. A natural-gas plumber handles the water lines, drain, and any gas work, while an electrician installs the circuit the dryer needs. If venting or framing changes are required, hire a general contractor to patch the drywall or adjust the framing so that everything meets code and operates safely.

Permanent models need complete plumbing, electrical, and—for dryers—vent hookups. Portable units skip most of that and can run on a standard outlet with a temporary water connection. If your home already has a code-approved hookup, you just connect the new appliances. If not, hire a licensed pro to add the lines and vent so the machines run safely and efficiently.

Relocating a hookup costs between $500 and $5,000, as it may involve installing new outlets, gas lines, vents, and drain pipes. The price increases when the new location is far from existing utilities or requires additional framing and drywall work. Have licensed professionals evaluate your layout, provide a quote for the move, and handle the installation so that every component meets code and works safely.
