"My. Husband and I had a great experience hiring Rocklynn. We needed an old concrete garage floor taken up and hauled away. We spoke to Joe who came over on the same day and gave us a quote. 2 days later Rocklynn was here with an excavator and it was done in less than 2 hrs. Excellent customer service. The quote was fair and it wasnâ t a penny more. We will definitely hire the company again in the future."

"I can not comment on the product quality because I never placed an order. I will comment on the totally unprofessional and unhinged behavior of the person/people answering the phone. I called on 4/30/20 at 4:49pm to inquire about having 2 yards of soil delivered on 5/2. I spoke with a man (no identification) who told me that he would take my number and call me back tomorrow. I gave him my name and number and hung up the phone. I received a call this morning (5/1/20) at 6:52 am from a female as a follow up. She quoted me 112-116$ for two yards of soil. I asked about what time I can expect the soil to be delivered on 5/2. She told me that it could be any time between 7-1pm. She then started to explain in detail how they process the deliveries at their site, which was ok but too much information. I then asked specifically what type of soil I was being quoted, at which point she told me that she could not tell me because I never told her what it was being used for. I said some was for a flower bed and some would be used for my lawn. She stated that the quote was for screened topsoil because that was the best for my application. At this point I was concerned with the vague nature of her responses and stated that I would have to call her back to schedule the delivery as I thought the price was a bit high and wanted to explore other options. All of sudden a male voice came onto the phone unidentified and started yelling at me about how I don't know what I'm talking about and that I should call "Mr. Mulch", because they'll be sure to get it to me "by Thursday". I attempted to slow this guy down and he then stated "Aren't you the guy who called me after 5 yesterday?" I told him I called just before 5, he told me I was lying. He then asked me what I do for a living. I said "I guess you don't want my business." He told me that he did not need my business, that he had more business than he knows what to do with, and hung up the phone. I am dumbfounded at this behavior. I can't help but assume that the call at 6:52am was punitive for some kind of perceived slight of calling his business after 5pm, even though I clearly did not. It is not acceptable to call a private residence at that time without prior discussion. This person isn't right in the head, and a search of other online reviews bears out a pattern of this type of behavior. This business should be avoided at all costs. I can only imagine what type of response a customer would receive if there was a problem with their delivery. I am thankful that I never got to that point."

Spring is the sweet spot for yard leveling. The soil has enough moisture to shape easily but is still firm enough to stay put once you finish grading. Tackle the project before summer downpours arrive, and you’ll improve drainage, reduce erosion, and give new grass time to take root. Leveling in early spring also helps pros schedule follow-up landscaping before the busy season hits.
For an average-size yard, it takes five to six days to level a yard. That window covers site prep, precision grading, and the final touch-ups that lock the soil in place. A tiny patch might wrap up in a single day, while a sprawling or steep property can stretch the schedule to a full week. Building in a little extra time keeps the project on track if weather or equipment delays pop up.
Keep the soil at least 4 inches below the top of the foundation and 4 inches beneath the bottom edge of the siding. That simple gap sends water away from the house, blocks moisture intrusion, and closes off entry points for pests. Maintaining the clearance is an easy way to protect the foundation, encourage proper drainage, and dodge costly repairs down the road.
Grading tilts the ground so water flows away from your foundation, while leveling smooths out bumps so you can mow, entertain, or add hardscaping with ease. Most projects need a mix of both—grade first for drainage, then fine‑tune the surface for a neat, user‑friendly lawn. Combining the two protects the house and boosts curb appeal in one pass.
Leveling your yard enhances both functionality and beauty by creating a uniformly flat and accessible space. This process eliminates uneven surfaces that hinder maintenance and outdoor activity while improving drainage and reducing water pooling. A leveled yard also serves as a robust foundation for additional features such as patios and playsets, ultimately increasing the overall appeal and value of your property.
