"We write this review as a sigh of relief now that our renovation project with River View is finally complete. The quality of the final work is excellent, and the construction crew, architect, and county inspector were all great to work with. The original crew we worked with, led by Edwin, were so hardworking, friendly, thorough, and fast. That's what really pushed us from 2 to 3 stars. However, the process getting here was frustrating and unnecessarily chaotic. Timeline & Communication Issues: Initial promise: We were clear that the renovation had to allow us to live in our home during construction and be completed before Christmas. Early communication: Our original project manager, Cris, was personable, and early communication seemed fine, if a bit informal and sometimes inappropriately personal. Major miscommunication: Near the holidays, we discovered that the plans submitted included cutting into the roof — something we explicitly said we didn’t want. This contradicted verbal assurances and caused major last-minute changes. Project Management Failures: Poor planning and oversight: Cris and the architect’s plan didn’t align with the construction work. We had to get involved directly with the county to fix errors. Paperwork errors: Incorrect submissions to the county added delays and confusion, which we had to monitor ourselves. Last-minute scramble: We were cleaning up dust on Christmas Eve due to these planning failures. Personnel Turnover & Lack of Handoff: Cris leaves the company: No proper handover to James, the new PM, who was unfamiliar with our project. Crew replaced: The original crew, who were great, were gone; new crew had no context or direction. James leaves: Another handoff with no context — the third PM had no idea about our project or its outstanding items. Escalation mishandled: When we raised our concerns with Kyle, the CEO, the response felt dismissive, with no accountability for the previous missteps. In summary, it's a beautiful end result... but we’re glad it’s over. The process left us frustrated, confused, and frankly, exhausted."

"DMV were the contractors for a series of renovation projects in my home -- renovate a powder room, complete renovation of the kitchen, renovate a closet space, install a skylight, repaint several rooms and the staircase, and refinish the floors upstairs. Javier and the crew were outstanding: very communicative throughout the project, attentive to my concerns and the integrity of the house, and very accommodating with my neighbors. Javier offered many helpful suggestions for tiling, fixtures, and colors. I'm thrilled with the results -- the quality and precision of the work is excellent, and the skylight has transformed my home and my life. Perhaps the most amazing aspect of the project is that I could not be on site as I was posted overseas during the work. I had to trust Javier and his team completely to carry out the work without my hands-on presence. My trust was well-placed. They took care of my home and its contents, and the project was finished in budget and early. Javier was also super-responsive and helpful once I was able to return home. "Our first encounter with Len the Plumber for gas boiler repairs went well and lead us to purchase a service contract with them for the 15% discount. However once we needed actual plumbing services and after they provided their "free" HVAC annual inspection it all went downhill rapidly. As others have noted the %15 discount is a concept they don't really honor. We were charged $1100 for less than 30 minutes of work for a repair that only required one cut and a simple joint (We had already removed the drywall and trim for access) and about $30 in parts (which by the way good luck getting an itemized bill from these people). On the HVAC side they broke what was a perfectly functioning 4 yr old AC HVAC and then wanted to charge $1200 to figure out how they broke it plus whatever parts they dreamed up needed replacing. They tried to claim the capacitor was bad. BTW - they brute force discharge the capacitors on units as part of their "maintenance check", something they should never do. We had BGE come out since their info was on the installation tag on the air handler and they diagnosed the issue in less than 30 minutes finding the thermostat had been burned up by mis-handling by the Len tech. They also said they never brutalize the capacitors the ways these guys do unless there is already a suspected issue with it. That's because the capacitor could be damaged by the way they handle it at Len the Plumber. So the "free" annual HVAC check cost me 3 days of discomfort and $250. Len refuses to admit wrong doing and will not reimburse us. They got $5000 in fees from us in less than a year so they don't care if we leave because they know another sucker is just around the corner waiting to be taken. These guys should lose their license given their business practices. Stay away from them at all costs."

"All work was completed in a professional manner from initial planning through all phases of construction. The job site was maintained as expected. AES worked with us on a few small changes we requested along the way as well. I felt very comfortable with all the craftsperson’s at work in our home. There was great communication with AES throughout the job. I would use their services in the future."
