"When they did the edges, I didn’t want them to put the bricks there. I wanted them to put a trench to separate where the grass started and the flower bed. I asked them to do it because I wanted it to look more professional and not like something crazy I did that wasn’t straight. It looks very crooked like something I would have done. The front they did well. I told him and he came back out and let him off the hook. He acknowledgeable that he could have done a better job. They didn’t’ put the extensions on the down spout far enough. So now I need to re-dig and make them lower or add more top soil above. They didn’t do a professional job as I would have liked. They were supposed to spray and a couple of days later I noticed that none of the vegetation was dying. I called back and they acknowledge it and came back out. They were responsive.    I tried to use them again but they were not responsive."

Diablo.  Dan designed a tiered pathway and his crew built it in the estimated time for completion and within the estimated cost.  They also installed lattice-work under the deck.  The finished product is excellent. "Backyard Ponds is magic. I have a small backyard pond,stream and waterfall that have been
leaking for years. Various workmen had poured concrete into it, slathered mortar
between stones and sprayed special waterfall foam all over the sides of it. My
pond, stream and waterfall continued to leak. Hilary of Backyard Ponds looked at it for a while, moved one
stone and fixed the leak. How did you do that! I yelled. Well after you work on
enough of these things you get an eye for what the problem could be. Then she
vacuumed all the mud that had been clogging the pum , reattached the waterline
and pump that I could never get to stay together, restacked the rocks along the
edge of the stream so they actually sat on top of each other instead of sliding
down at all angles, and added a few strategically placed rocks to hide the pump
and waterline and cover the rubber sides of the stream. She added a regulator to
the water line so I could make the water run fast and slow. And more. I have had
a pond and stream for fifteen years, and many people have worked on it, from
expensive professioanl landscapers to guys I would swear the contractor picked
up off the street corner. The difference in using someone who specializes in
ponds is stunning. Backyard ponds is
magic.

"I called Dan on a Saturday, expecting a return call on Monday. He called back on Sunday and alos came out on Sunday to look at the project and offer a quote and on Wednesday, he and his crew completed the rather big job. No fuss no muss! I only had a few small branches to pick up, but his crew pretty much got it all and even came back 1 more time to do some final trimming that I wanted at no charge. Good guy and good service."

"Brick walkway with landscaping (grass area with attention to cleanup of the site) and marble bathrooms are gorgeous. Nelson cares about his work and will offer suggestions on the design to make it work better and look better than just a basic design. For example, the original walkway was ugly concrete with a 90 degree turn towards the driveway. Nelson suggested widening the walkway by a few inches by orienting bricks differently without adding any cost, and then moving part of the walkway using a curved design towards to a location where it is more practical as a walkway, and allowing for a decorative planter surrounding the existing light fixture rather than the old design, and without additonal cost. He has an artisitc ability to make things really look good, as well as master carpenter skills for carpentry and especially tile designs. He is always respectful of the pricing. Nelson is a pleasure to work with because he is trustworthy and polite. Gorgeous work!"
