"I met Mike through a professional association where we both serve on the board of directors. I had been thinking of doing some remodeling and had him check out my bathroom and kitchen. He was very responsive to what I was looking for and drew up some great plans for both rooms. I hadn't planned on doing both rooms in the same year but based on his estimates and timelines, I decided to go for it. As of this review, the bathroom is finished and I am super happy with the results. The week timeline was pushed out a bit due to some unforseen issues but they worked to get me a working bathroom as quickly as possible and we had to do some of the finishing work in pieces afterwards. Mike and Alan are great to work with and all of their subcontractors were very professional and did excellent work. Price was the most reasonable of all the estimates I'd gotten and Mike really understood what I was going for in terms of quality, design and future use and offered practical suggestions and worked with some of the unique issues of an older home. The end result is light years ahead of what it was and not only looks amazing but is so much more functional as well. Originally there was a tub with a shower curtain and the tub area isn't a standard size. The flooring hadn't been sealed and was peeling up around the tub. The surround was plastic and cracked, and the vanity was outdated and broken. We switched it out to be a walk in shower with no tub. The shower panel and bumper had to be custom built and tiled since the area wasn't a standard six-foot length. The shower walls and bumper are white subway tiles and the shower pan is penny tiles in a marbilized pattern. The vanity was moved over to make room for a linen cabinet which means the medicine cabinet and vanity light fixture needed to be moved over. The ceiling was dropped 6 inches in order to put in a fan/light, which was vented outside. The shelving over the toilet was replaced with a cabinet for extra storage. Flooring is marbilized vinyl tile which matches the shower pan. Subflooring was repaired around the toilet, shower mixer was installed, shower drywall was replaced with water-resistant panels and a moisture barrier, new floor trim was added and the entire room sanded and repainted. The vanity light switch was moved to accomodate the linen cabinet and a new switch was added to control the fan."

Last winter we had our bathroom remodeled to more appropriately accommodate me in my recovery process and moving forward from several strokes. We had a rep come out to give us a quote based on what we wanted/would need and after some convincing and offering of discounts, we settled on a price and worked out a loan agreement to get it done. The project was to turn our bathtub in our main bathroom into a standing shower with a grab bar to allow for ease of entry and exit for myself, plus a wider vanity to allow for both myself and my wife to use the sink at the same time. We also opted to replace the flooring, which was tile, to a vinyl that became less cool and easy to walk on. We picked out the design and style with the rep who's name I don't remember, and set a date for everything to be done. The first issue after the fact that we noticed, was that the wrong vanity had been installed. When this issue was raised, the solution was to reimburse us for part of the installation because that seemed easier at the time. Fine. Everything else seemed to be ok, so we let it go and moved on. Fast forward to today, we had a drainage issue with that shower stall and called a plumber to address the issue. In the process of doing that, he discovered that the pipe for the shower drain, which had been moved from its original placement on the initial install, had not only been installed incorrectly, but had been sealed improperly and now that the seal has begun to erode away is causing a small (for now) leak. We now have a quote for an exploration into the problem where the other company will have to open up part of the celling in the basement in order to assess the issue and determine a correct fix. That this problem exists in the first place is unacceptable and we are frankly livid with the matter."

Most bathroom demolition projects are completed within one day, though larger or more complex spaces may require additional time. A standard half bath might be demolished in just a few hours, while a spacious primary bathroom with extensive tile work could take up to three days.
Factors that extend the timeline include discovering hazardous materials, addressing unexpected structural issues, or working with difficult-to-remove fixtures. Professional crews can complete projects more efficiently than DIY efforts due to their specialized tools and experience.
Before demolition begins, remove all personal belongings, toiletries, and decorative items from the bathroom. Create dust barriers by covering doorways and vents with plastic sheeting secured with painter's tape. Shut off water supply valves and electrical circuits serving the bathroom to prevent accidents.
Establish a clear pathway from the bathroom to your home's exterior for debris removal. If you have only one bathroom, make alternative arrangements for facilities during the project duration. Protect the flooring in adjacent areas with drop cloths or protective coverings.
Remaining in your home during bathroom demolition is feasible with proper planning. The process generates considerable noise, dust, and disruption primarily during working hours. Households with multiple bathrooms can simply use alternative facilities during the project. For homes with a single bathroom, you'll need temporary solutions such as arrangements with neighbors or nearby facilities.
The most intensive demolition lasts between one and three days, after which dust and noise levels decrease substantially. Some homeowners choose to schedule short trips during the most disruptive phase of the project.
