"We were very happy with the repair of the hinge on our storm door. He repaired it by replacing a few washers that has gone missing. Other repair people recommend we replace the whole door."

"Our project began as drywall repair with the idea down the road we would get somebody in to paint. Jim and his staff's workmanship on the drywall led us to having them continue to paint the rooms that they had repaired. Jim and his staff were courteous, timely, and very respectful of our property. After they completed the drywall repair and painting, they vacuumed the carpets, cleaned up the dust throughout the house, and even moved the furniture back to its original location. Would highly recommend Jim in the future for any upcoming projects."

"We are longtime Angie's list members/users. Steve promptly returned our call and came out to look at our space and provide a general estimate. When work was scheduled, he arrived on time and did thorough, clean job. He took his time and did quality work. Even the other person working on our kitchen positively commented on Steve's work. He provides other services as well and we will definitely keep him in mind for future projects. Very friendly and down-to-earth."

"This project required some creative thinking as far as plumbing was concerned. Some prospective contractors said it couldn't be done. Jeff thought otherwise.
In order to allow for drilling through some of the floor joists for the shower drain, Jeff first had to double up the joists to strengthen the floor. We were amazed at how quickly this was accomplished. Rough framing was done in no time at all. The plumbing was extensive but was installed in one day, rough electrical the next day. More amazement - drywall soon followed. The only thing that held this up at all was waiting for inspections. Before we knew it, everything came together with the installation of the floor, fixtures, finish electrical, paint and trim. After he cleaned up, we coudn't tell he was ever there...except for the new bathroom!

He fabricated a wooden pipe chase in the first floor bedroom to hide the waste line, water feeds and electrical. He was able to match the existing woodwork perfectly. He also installed a new attic access door as the existing one was now the new bathroom door.
We trusted Jeff from the beginning. We had no problem at all giving him the house key and he made sure that the cat did not sneak out!
We kept waiting for a problem. None came. Job done. A great experience!

"

"
We met with Jon the owner and decided to go with them because they specialized in remodeling jobs, and not doing new home constructions. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned and from my observation, a lot of the issues had to do with having various crews doing various parts of the job.

We walked through the job with Jon, and the together we marked what was getting worked on and what was not. We did the same walk through with his crew when they got there. The crew was very careful to isolate the construction area from the rest of the house which we were glad about. Unfortunately they demo'd more than they should have in some areas, and didn't do proper prep in others.

We pointed out the problems to Jon and he assured us he would take care of them (more on that later).

The next person to come in was the one that was going to hang the drywall. He was upset because the first crew did not remove any of the old nails like they were supposed to. So, instead of removing the nails he pounded them so it would go faster, and was getting nail pops when he started to hang but told us that would get fixed when it was mudded.

When mudding and prep were all done there were a number of obvious issues that were still present so I asked Jon to come in so we could show him, and get corrected. This time he came in with his crew lead, we walked through and pointed things out and he assured us they would be fixed.

A little side-note: JB's crew lead was sick during the first two stages. Normally he's the one that ensures all crews communicate throughout the process. The person that was filling in was obviously not ready to step into that role based on all of our problems.

They did try to fix the issues we pointed out and I believe they were fixed to the best of their ability considering the conditions, but the issues were still obvious to me because I know what they should look like. BUT, had they not done the demo and prep the way they did, these issues would not have popped up, not had to be made to work, and not still be present.

Now, back to the extra demo that was done. Jon had another contractor come in that did wood and trim to fix the extra demo. I appreciate him calling someone else in. It shows that he knows his limitations, and is going to make sure things get done correctly.

Once everything was done we had them prime the room, we painted, and when we went to put all of the light and plug covers on they would not go on. It turns out that when they cut the drywall around the boxes (they were left in place during remodel) they cut it out incorrectly. Another call to Jon and he followed up with a visit to the house with some potential workarounds. In the end I was able to get things flush again, but I know that things are not done the way they should have been done had mistakes not been made earlier in the job.

There are still issued with the job like small gaps where there shouldn't be, and most recently when we went to hang a curtain rod we got a nail pop because of the poor prep and hanging stages.

I do have to say that throughout the whole process Jon took ownership of the issues, and really tried to find a resolution. I respect him for that, but there is a point where you're done having folks come into your house and try to fix mistakes, at least that's the point we got to. Now we just have to live with the imperfections which I notice on almost a daily basis.

"

"I needed a new paint job for my apartment unit, as well as new baseboards and door frames installed. There were also a few other odds and ends that were needed to improve the look of the spot, like a new door, and removal of some crown molding. He did an excellent job, and did it for a very reasonable price. I manage the property remotely in Brooklyn, NY and was easily able to communicate with Dave during the process. We even used Facetime to keep me updated on the work and how it was going. I would highly recommend to anybody needing any sort of construction done on their property. The renovations were at budget and on time."
