"Tom came out the next day after we called (wasn t even an emergency), arrived on time, and was able to quickly diagnose and repair the problems in our sprinkler system the same day. We recently moved into the house and had no idea where all the buried valves were in the yard. He was able to locate the faulty valve with no issue and replace it. Seemed very knowledgeable and also very pleasant to work with as well. Highly recommend."

"Greg came out and quoted the job and asked for us to mark all drainage tile and wires with flags so that his crew would not damage anything. After the install I noticed that our yard was very wet after a light rain shower. We were having sod laid the next week so I was concerned. When we dug up the tile line we saw that the Winchel irrigation broke our drain tile in 2 places. I called Greg and told him I was upset. Greg said that he was there when his crew installed the system and that they fixed any of the tile lines that were hit. Since then we have had our sod installed $$$$. After 2 days of medium rain, I noticed 2 holes approx. 12” round and 18” deep. The cause, 2 additional areas where Winchel cut through our tile line. Our new tile lines are clogged with dirt. Our new sod is like mush because the water is not draining. We hired this job out so that we could enjoy our summer. But instead we are pulling up very expensive sod and repairing what Winchel destroyed. WHY DID THEY WANT US TO MARK THE TILE LINES WITH FLAGS IF THEY WERE JUST GOING TO DESTROY THEM ANYWAYS????? Here is the kicker... My husband asked why we weren't informed that our tile lines were hit. The answers was customers don't want to know."

"We were looking for a company to install underground irrigation, before our hydro seed was put in.   I called serveral companies and they all had great offers, but I went with quality over cost at this point.   I sent out a request on the thier website and got a response back within 24hrs from the lead contracters Mike Scheper and asked for a little bit of information and what we were looking for. <br /> About a week later Mike came out to my home and did a survey of the property and meet up with me explaining in detail what to expect before and after the installation is performed and some of the services they provide.   He let me with a brochure and a bunch of information about thier company, product information and the quote with many options to choose from.  <br /> About a month later we came back to Mike and decided they would be the best option . We immediatly schedualed an appotiment for them to come out and do the work.  On the day of the installation, they came out as schedualed and performed top notch work.  It took them about 8hrs from start to finish.  When they were completed they performed a demonstration of the system and explained to me how everything works.   <br /> I would recommend them to anyone looking for irrigation or any landscaping that needs to be done. <br />"

FAQs for lawn and garden sprinkler system installation projects in Grand Haven, MI

While drip irrigation systems have higher upfront costs, they can save you money in the long run. By delivering water directly into the soil with minimal evaporation and runoff, drip irrigation systems conserve water and improve efficiency. This means better performance and results for your landscaping, and cost savings over the system's lifespan.

Yes, irrigation systems can add value to your home, especially when installed with high-quality materials and a solid design. A well-irrigated landscape enhances curb appeal and can attract potential buyers. However, poor design or installation may reduce performance and even decrease your property's value. Hiring an expert for installation and performing regular maintenance is key to securing the long-term benefits.

A local irrigation professional can help you check your drip irrigation system to make sure it's in good shape. You'll want to make sure the water pressure is in a good range, repair any leaks as soon as possible, and cover the cost to winterize your sprinkler system as recommended by your irrigation contractor.

A drip irrigation system lasts between 10 and 15 years. This lifespan is determined by the quality of materials, the precision of installation, and regular professional maintenance. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems that can last up to 50 years, the thinner piping used in drip systems is more sensitive to UV exposure and environmental wear. Proper upkeep and timely repairs enhance durability and ensure consistent irrigation performance.

Drip irrigation is best suited for plant beds, containers, greenhouses, and row crops. It supplies water directly to individual plants, ensuring precise moisture control where it is needed most. For areas with simple layouts, above-ground systems work efficiently, while subsurface installations may be cost-prohibitive in spaces with extensive tree roots or irregular terrain. Proper planning maximizes the benefits of drip irrigation across a variety of applications.
